With the aim of modernizing Soc Trang’s healthcare system, the Department of Health is continuously training leaders and healthcare workers to meet the demands of their noble roles. This workshop is part of the Department’s orientation, providing opportunities for hospitals and medical centers to access cutting-edge technologies, especially the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) Management System so that they can be prepared for any challenges of the digital transformation era.

In his opening remarks, Mr. Nguyen Duy Hien, Deputy Director of Healthcare Sector at FPT IS, emphasized the compliance with Circular 54/2017/BYT, which mandates that by 2026, 100% of hospitals must implement electronic medical records (EMRs). However, this is a significant challenge, as currently, less than 10% of hospitals nationwide have adopted EMRs. According to Circular 46/2018/TT-BYT, it is stipulated that digital medical records hold the same legal value as paper records. This regulation lays the foundation for digitalization and the successful implementation of EMRs. Mr. Hien noted that Soc Trang is one of the provinces that has already undertaken several digital transformation initiatives, but is still in the early stages of this process, with much work remaining. “FPT was the first to successfully deploy electronic medical records at Hai Phong City Hospital, the first facility to do so nationwide. With over 20 years of experience in deploying technology systems for more than 300 hospitals and approximately 20 health departments across the country, FPT IS is committed to supporting the healthcare sector in Soc Trang in applying advanced technologies and optimizing processes toward a smart hospital model.”

Mr. Nguyen Duy Hien, Deputy Director of Healthcare Sector at FPT IS

The first presentation at the workshop, delivered by Mr. Phuong Ngoc Thang, Director of Health Consulting and Integrated Solutions Center at FPT IS, introduced the FPT.EMR electronic medical record solution. The FPT.EMR electronic medical record management system, developed by FPT IS using the latest and most advanced technology platform, aims to digitize medical records and move toward a “paperless” hospital model. It addresses the needs of both patients seeking medical and examination services, and medical facilities managing and implementing Circular No. 46/2018/TT-BYT. The system allows doctors to easily manage patient information through web-based and mobile platforms. Medical facilities can also reduce costs associated with maintaining paper records archives, while medical staff can save time on procedures and avoid delays related to taking or returning paper records. For patients, the system eliminates the need to store physical documents, allowing them to schedule appointments, receive check-up & medications reminders, and actively manage their health information through applications.

Mr. Phuong Ngoc Thang, Director of Health Consulting and Integrated Solutions Center at FPT IS, introduced the FPT.EMR electronic medical record solution

Mr. Nguyen Duy Hien, Deputy Director of Healthcare Sector at FPT IS

introduced the FPT.HIE Health Information Exchange System, offering a new solution for connectivity and information exchange between information systems and applications in the healthcare sector.
