On March 19, the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and FPT Corporation signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for strategic cooperation in digital transformation and sustainable development. At the event, ACCA awarded the ACCA Approved Employer certificate to FPT Corporation and organized the seminar titled “Technology in Sustainable Development Reporting and Green Finance”.\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

The event was attended by senior representatives from organizations and associations, FPT leaders and subsidiaries, as well as ACCA leaders.<\/span><\/p>\n

The MoU between ACCA and FPT marks a long-term commitment to jointly develop digital financial solutions, enhance ESG reporting capabilities, and train talent according to global standards. Leveraging FPT\u2019s strengths in emerging technologies such as AI and automation, and ACCA\u2019s deep expertise in global ESG reporting standards, the two sides aim to research and develop digital solutions that help businesses proactively comply with sustainable development requirements.<\/span><\/p>\n

Moreover, ACCA and FPT will strengthen cross-border collaboration through international conferences and joint research projects, promoting knowledge exchange and industry linkage.<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition to focusing on developing a high-quality accounting and finance workforce, FPT has leveraged its technological strengths to build a data-driven management system. This system enables the leadership team to make timely and accurate decisions based on real-time data\u2014allowing decisions to be made within the same day instead of taking several weeks. Over the past five years, thanks to its digital transformation efforts, FPT has consistently completed quarterly business performance reports and quarterly and annual financial statements quickly, accurately, and ahead of regulatory deadlines. Notably, the Corporation has developed the FPT CFS (Closing & Financial Consolidation System) solution, which automates up to 99% of the financial consolidation process, reducing 80% of the time and manpower required for financial reporting across the entire system.<\/span><\/p>\n

Users can easily access and operate the system from various types of end-user devices. Instead of manually collecting, processing, and reporting data for each subsidiary separately, FPT CFS enables a unified, end-to-end data aggregation and consolidation process. This approach reduces employee workload, saves time, and optimizes costs associated with financial reporting.<\/span><\/p>\n

Seminar: Technology in Sustainable Development Reporting and Green Finance<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Following the signing ceremony, the seminar was held under the theme: <\/span>\u201cTechnology in Sustainable Development Reporting and Green Finance\u201d<\/span><\/i> The session featured experts from ACCA Vietnam, FiinRatings, and HSBC, offering comprehensive perspectives on ESG practices, opportunities in green finance, and the critical role of digital technology in enabling this transition for businesses.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

According to Mr. T\u00f4 Qu\u1ed1c H\u01b0ng, Country Director of ACCA Vietnam, the challenge of greenhouse gas inventory and sustainability reporting presents a real test of vision for business leaders. He emphasized that the core barrier lies not in resources or tools but in the awareness and determination of those at the top. Integrating sustainability into business strategy is not only a responsible choice\u2014it is a strategic investment in the future. To foster this mindset, ACCA Vietnam is pioneering partnerships with the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange and various universities to conduct in-depth research into the links between sustainable development and business performance, thereby creating stronger momentum for action within the business community.<\/span><\/p>\n

Echoing this sentiment, Mr. Nguyen Quang Thuan, FCCA\u2014Chairman of FiinRatings, stated: \u201cI believe that to accelerate sustainable development, leadership is key. We also need pioneers\u2014particularly from the private sector, who are best positioned to lead. These tangible success stories will serve as a solid foundation for governments to recognize the benefits and implement strong supportive policies. We need pioneers to jointly create a ‘sustainability map’ that other businesses can confidently follow.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Representing FPT as a provider of technology solutions, Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong, Director of Enterprise Consulting FPT IS \u2013 FPT Corporation, analyzed: \u201cIn ESG implementation and sustainability reporting, one of the most challenging aspects is greenhouse gas inventory. To address this, businesses must adopt standardized tools and solutions, and build teams with expertise in carbon accounting\u2014especially given the global adoption of multiple standards such as the IPCC guidelines, the GHG Protocol, and ISO 1467\/14064.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Understanding this challenge, FPT has researched and developed the first automated emission inventory solution in Vietnam \u2013 <\/span>VertZ\u00e9ro, ensuring compliance with international standards. VertZ\u00e9ro applies AI in the process of classifying input data related to greenhouse gas impacts of Scope 3 emissions, automatically detecting incorrect data and issuing alerts, and automatically generating reports using GenAI. As a result, the solution eliminates complicated manual steps, minimizes errors, and creates transparent, accurate emission reports.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Sharing successful stories of enterprises in Vietnam, Ms. Ph\u01b0\u1ee3ng stated that <\/span>Tran Duc Wood – Furniture and Construction Group chose FPT as its consulting partner to implement the VertZ\u00e9ro solution for greenhouse gas inventory across the entire enterprise. This helps realize the goal of becoming the pioneer to achieve a NetZero factory in the industry, building a sustainable business strategy and seizing business opportunities from the international market.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Looking ahead, FPT aims to accompany more businesses in scaling this emissions inventory model\u2014ensuring transparency, efficiency, and alignment with Vietnam\u2019s sustainable development goals.<\/span><\/p>\n

To promote and accelerate this process, recently FPT has cooperated with BIDV Bank to provide the greenhouse gas inventory and management software solution to all BIDV’s corporate customers free of charge (for a limited time) and to offer a preferential fee of up to 25% after this period. With technological capacity and a global partner ecosystem, FPT commits to accompanying the Government and enterprises to build a green future and realize the NetZero goal, Ms. Ph\u01b0\u1ee3ng affirmed.<\/span><\/p>\n

In summary, all speakers affirmed that to successfully achieve green transformation, the key lies in the strong determination and investment from business leaders, along with strategic cooperation between reputable organizations, leading experts, and pioneering technology units. This connection not only creates a breakthrough driving force but also promotes Vietnamese enterprises to proactively seize opportunities, overcome challenges, and lead the sustainable development trend.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n
