Recently, the project to provide G\/L Account conversion services based on the COA structure in SAP Business One officially went live at Shan Poornam Metals Sdn Bhd (SPM), marking a significant milestone in the company\u2019s efforts to enhance its financial and operational systems. The project concluded with impressive outcomes, proving to be strategically important not only to the client but also to the implementation team.<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

The project aimed to transition G\/L accounts to a new Chart of Account (COA) structure on SAP Business One (SAP B1), converting legacy accounts and data into a modernized format. The scope of implementation covered key modules including Financial Accounting(FI), Purchasing, Sales, Production, and Inventory\u2014ensuring the system would operate seamlessly and accurately post-migration.<\/span><\/p>\n

The project enabled SPM\u2014a member of the Cenviro Group\u2014to standardize its accounting structure in alignment with Cenviro\u2019s system, thereby enhancing the ability to extract and consolidate financial reports. At the same time, it offered SPM deeper insights into SAP B1\u2019s automatic accounting configuration, which had not been fully explained by the previous implementation provider. As a result, SPM was able to identify previous operational errors and significantly improve their command over the SAP B1 platform.<\/span><\/p>\n

Beyond delivering a technological solution, FPT also impressed the client with its professional and methodical project execution. Comprehensive training sessions, user acceptance testing (UAT), regular error log reviews, and weekly PMO meetings all contributed to building client trust and satisfaction. Over the long term, the new system is expected to enable faster, more accurate decision-making and greater scalability for future operations.<\/span><\/p>\n

Led by key members from both sides, the project officially kicked off on December 4, 2024, with an expected two-month rollout timeline. However, due to the need for internal data review and standardization on the client side, the project was temporarily paused from January to March 2025 and resumed in April to complete the final implementation tasks. Following UAT and system preparation, the platform officially went live on May 5, 2025.<\/span><\/p>\n

Thanks to the tireless efforts of the project teams on both sides, the initiative achieved several notable milestones: standardizing the accounting system per Cenviro\u2019s standards, enhancing control over SAP B1\u2014particularly in automated accounting\u2014synchronizing data across finance, procurement, sales, production, and inventory modules, and deploying the solution simultaneously across two entities to save both time and cost.<\/span><\/p>\n

At the project go-live announcement meeting, the client praised the dedication and responsiveness of the FPT team. Mr. Charles Gerald Nathan, SPM\u2019s Project Manager, shared: \u201cI want to extend my thanks to Mr. Huynh Cong Toan and the project team for their consistent support from early mornings to late evenings. I truly appreciate the team\u2019s commitment to timely issue resolution and practical solution delivery.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

For SPM, the project has enabled greater autonomy in financial operations and management. For FPT, it marks an important milestone affirming its capabilities in consulting and deploying SAP Business One for manufacturing enterprises in international markets, while also opening up future collaboration opportunities with Cenviro.<\/span><\/p>\n
