On May 26, the Ho Chi Minh City Management Authority for Urban Railways (MAUR) hosted a working session with a delegation from Hyundai Rotem (South Korea), led by Mr. Lee Jaeyong \u2013 Head of Business Division. The session was also attended by representatives from FPT Corporation and Truong Hai Industries Group (THACO) to discuss potential cooperation opportunities in urban transportation, particularly the ongoing metro lines in Ho Chi Minh City.<\/b><\/p>\n

Mr. Nguyen Quoc Hien \u2013 Deputy Director of MAUR \u2013 provided an overview of the urban railway network as per the master plan toward 2040, with a development vision to 2060. This master plan is a vital framework for shaping a modern, sustainable public transportation infrastructure that meets the city\u2019s future urban growth needs.<\/span><\/p>\n

Hyundai Rotem representatives shared detailed information on the modern trains the company is providing for MAUR. Hyundai Rotem, a member of Hyundai Motor Group, is a leading manufacturer of locomotives, railway cars, signal systems, and industrial equipment, operating in over 50 countries with strong credibility and expertise in urban rail development.<\/span><\/p>\n

FPT representatives highlighted the Group\u2019s extensive capabilities in delivering technology solutions for the public transportation sector, particularly urban railway systems. Drawing on practical experience from key implementations such as Metro Line 1 (Ben Thanh \u2013 Suoi Tien), FPT has proven its expertise and ability to partner in the development of modern transport infrastructure.<\/span><\/p>\n

Amid the active implementation of Resolution 57-NQ\/TW by the Politburo, innovation and technology adoption are increasingly seen as key drivers for urban infrastructure development. FPT commits to partnering with MAUR to leverage technology as a strategic tool in solving major challenges for the country and the city\u2014especially in public infrastructure operations. Public transportation is viewed as a core pillar in advancing Transit-Oriented Development (TOD), which not only links strategic transport corridors with economic hubs but also seamlessly connects digital citizens with smart urban infrastructure.<\/span><\/p>\n

MAUR praised the operational excellence and modern development of South Korea\u2019s metro system, considering it a valuable reference for planning and operating Ho Chi Minh City\u2019s own metro network. MAUR expressed hopes for expanded cooperation, particularly in technology transfer to enhance metro operations in the city.<\/span><\/p>\n
