On August 18, 2025, in Hanoi, FPT Corporation, together with leading technology enterprises, research institutes, and universities from Vietnam and the United Kingdom, participated in the \u201cVietnam \u2013 UK Semiconductor Forum\u201d, organized by the National Innovation Center (NIC) in collaboration with the British Embassy. The event aimed to promote international cooperation in the semiconductor industry, a sector regarded as a cornerstone of the digital economy era.<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

FPT, along with major technology corporations, research institutes, universities, and experts from 2 countries, at the \u201cVietnam \u2013 UK Semiconductor Forum.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

The program was attended by Mr. Iain Frew \u2013 British Ambassador to Vietnam, along with a delegation of leading UK enterprises and organizations in the semiconductor sector, including ARM and Oxford Instruments. Within the framework of the forum, businesses, universities, and research institutes from both countries had the opportunity to meet, exchange information, seek partners, and build collaborative relationships.<\/span><\/p>\n

During the event, representatives from Vietnam and the United Kingdom shared in-depth perspectives on semiconductor industry development plans, operational strategies, and the potential for bilateral cooperation in this critical sector.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Van \u2013 Chief of Staff at FPT Semiconductor, under FPT Corporation, Vietnam\u2019s pioneering enterprise in the semiconductor industry, presented an overview of FPT\u2019s semiconductor business and outlined concrete proposals to strengthen bilateral collaboration:<\/span><\/p>\n

Firstly, enhancing education and training partnerships<\/b> between Vietnamese and UK universities and research institutes in areas such as integrated circuit design, semiconductor packaging and testing, advanced materials, and artificial intelligence technologies.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Secondly, establishing R&D centers<\/b> of UK corporations and organizations in Vietnam, thereby creating direct bridges for research and practical applications.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Thirdly, developing incubator platforms and innovation investment funds<\/b> to support startup ideas from both Vietnam and the UK, contributing to sustainable growth and advancing Vietnam\u2019s Net Zero 2050 commitment.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

FPT representative delivered a presentation at the forum on the corporation\u2019s semiconductor business and proposed avenues for bilateral cooperation<\/span><\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

UK enterprises and organizations expressed their goodwill for cooperation and their readiness to accompany and support Vietnam in developing strategic industries such as semiconductors and fostering an innovation ecosystem. These efforts will contribute to strengthening, deepening, and advancing the Vietnam\u2013UK partnership in a substantive and effective manner, delivering tangible benefits to both sides.<\/span><\/p>\n
