In early September, at FPT Tower, Mr. Tran Dang Hoa – Chairman of FPT IS and FPT Semiconductor under FPT Corporation – together with representatives from FPT University, and FPT Polytechnic College, held a working session with Japanese partners Nisso Corporation and MRIV International LLC. These two companies had previously signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on semiconductor workforce development between Vietnam and Japan in April 2025, witnessed by the Prime Ministers of both countries.<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Mr. Kenji Fujino – Representative Director & President of Nisso Corporation noted that strategies for training and recruiting semiconductor talent in Japan are undergoing significant changes. According to a survey of demand from four semiconductor alliances under the supervision of the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), demand is rising sharply, particularly for positions such as maintenance engineers, production managers, and quality management specialists. With the industry\u2019s high level of automation, skill requirements for semiconductor professionals are also evolving. In particular, back-end processes (assembly, testing, packaging) are experiencing rapid technological transformation, requiring talent with strong adaptability.<\/span><\/p>\n

Nisso also shared with FPT a list of key job positions in the semiconductor and automotive industries, with the expectation of collaborating to design corresponding training programs.<\/span><\/p>\n

Mr. Miyano \u2013 Business Development Manager of Nisso Corporation \u2013 introduced a long-term training program in collaboration with FPT Polytechnic, covering the fields of semiconductors, automotive, and electronic devices. Nisso also presented its VR training technology, which enables students in Vietnam to gain a learning experience comparable to that in Japan.<\/span><\/p>\n

On behalf of FPT University, Mr. Nguyen Khanh Toan \u2013 Acting Head of International Cooperation \u2013 shared: \u201cFPT University currently offers a major in Semiconductor IC Design with more than 1,000 students enrolled, and we plan to recruit an additional 1,000 new students this year. In addition, we provide training in software and AI, ready to supply talent that meets Nisso\u2019s requirements.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Representing FPT Polytechnic, Mr. Hoang Van Loi \u2013 Vice Rector \u2013 stated: \u201cFPT Polytechnic can train and provide short-term workforce solutions for Nisso, focusing on positions such as equipment installation, maintenance, and machinery repair. We will work with Nisso to build a specific plan to meet future workforce demands.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
