As part of the Ministry of Health\u2019s key digital transformation roadmap, the Drug Administration of Vietnam (DAV) has organized a training series titled \u201cAI Awareness and Applications in Daily Work\u201d in partnership with FPT Corporation. Held on December 6 and December 13 at the DAV headquarters, the program attracted more than 50 officials and specialists, aiming to position artificial intelligence (AI) as a practical support tool in pharmaceutical administration.<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Speaking at the training sessions, DAV leaders highlighted the urgent need to apply advanced technologies\u2014particularly AI\u2014in response to the rapidly increasing workload and growing complexity of regulatory requirements, while the healthcare sector is accelerating the digitalization of all professional processes.<\/p>\n

Dr. Ta Manh Hung, Deputy Director General of the Drug Administration of Vietnam, noted that continuing to rely on manual processes and paper-based documentation, as in the past, would make it difficult to meet current requirements for efficiency and quality. \u201cEvery officer and civil servant should be equipped with an \u2018AI assistant\u2019 to support daily work\u2014handling dossiers, synthesizing information, and improving decision-making efficiency,\u201d he emphasized. He also stressed the principle that \u201cevery department must apply AI, and every officer must become familiar with it.\u201d<\/p>\n

With 100% of administrative procedures now processed electronically, AI adoption is expected to significantly shorten processing time, enhance data analysis quality, and improve monitoring and regulatory oversight. He underscored that AI implementation must always go hand in hand with information security and data protection.<\/p>\n

Sharing insights at the program, Mr. Pham Thanh Tung, Director of the Healthcare Sector at FPT IS, FPT Corporation, stated that FPT has partnered with the Ministry of Health for many years, deploying numerous IT systems to support medical services and healthcare management nationwide. According to him, AI is increasingly becoming a \u201cmandatory professional skill\u201d for public-sector staff, enabling faster, more accurate work while reducing repetitive administrative tasks.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe training sessions are designed to help officers gain a correct understanding of AI, use it properly, and apply it immediately in their daily work before moving on to more specialized professional use cases. FPT will continue to accompany the Drug Administration of Vietnam in deploying AI in a practical and effective manner,\u201d Mr. Tung affirmed.<\/p>\n

During the training, FPT\u2019s AI experts shared foundational knowledge on artificial intelligence, AI ethics, and the principles of safe and responsible AI usage. Participants were guided on how to effectively use AI tools that can be immediately applied in daily tasks, identify high-value AI use cases for their units, and discuss real operational scenarios raised directly by attendees.<\/p>\n

In the afternoon sessions, FPT provided practical perspectives on AI applications in pharmaceutical administration, introducing solutions within the FPT.AI ecosystem, including FPT AI Agents and FPT AI Mentor.<\/p>\n

FPT AI Agents are designed as \u201cdigital agents\u201d that support request intake, procedural guidance, information lookup, and professional inquiries 24\/7. These agents help automate repetitive tasks, reduce administrative workload, and improve service quality for citizens. Meanwhile, FPT AI Mentor functions as a \u201cdigital advisor,\u201d assisting officers in quickly accessing professional regulations, standardizing knowledge, referencing legal documents, and enabling continuous learning\u2014thereby enhancing consistency and accuracy in dossier processing.<\/p>\n

These solutions are developed in compliance with strict safety and data security standards tailored to the healthcare sector, contributing to reduced administrative burden, improved pharmaceutical management quality, and greater transparency in decision-making.<\/p>\n

The training series reaffirms the Drug Administration of Vietnam\u2019s strong commitment to making AI a practical support tool for every officer, thereby enhancing regulatory effectiveness and advancing digital transformation in the healthcare sector. With extensive experience in implementing large-scale technology and AI projects for ministries and government agencies, FPT commits to continuing its partnership with the Drug Administration of Vietnam in subsequent phases\u2014from training and consulting to piloting and deploying AI applications that are appropriate, secure, and closely aligned with sector-specific management requirements.<\/p>\n
