On the afternoon of August 25, 2026, FPT and Atomi Digital Joint Stock Company signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to jointly develop comprehensive insurance technology solutions. The agreement marks a new step in the two companies\u2019 expansion into the insurtech sector, a market considered to hold significant growth potential in Vietnam.<\/i><\/strong><\/p>\n

The MOU establishes a framework for the two parties to research, consult on, and deploy solutions for the insurance industry, spanning core insurance systems, digitalization solutions, as well as artificial intelligence and data applications. The two parties will also collaborate on system integration and knowledge transfer, while leaving open the possibility of expanding into other areas subject to future written agreements. The partnership is built on the principle of leveraging each party\u2019s respective strengths.<\/span><\/p>\n

FPT will contribute its foundational technology capabilities, along with insurance expertise from FPT\u2019s Insurance Services & Technologies Center (ISTC), as well as consulting and new product R&D capabilities. Atomi Digital brings strengths in technology consulting, project delivery management, and system integration. The complementary capabilities are expected to enable more comprehensive solutions for customers, rather than having each party operate independently.<\/span><\/p>\n

Under the MOU, the two parties will discuss and agree on a collaboration approach for each specific opportunity based on the actual requirements of each project. Support provided by either party at an initial stage, such as business consulting or solution demonstrations, does not constitute a commitment to participate in the entire project. Specific commercial obligations will only arise when the two parties sign a separate contract or agreement for each project.<\/span><\/p>\n

The insurance industry is highly competitive, and today, this competition is increasingly shaped by digital transformation and AI. Many markets around the world have demonstrated the practical value of this trend. In South Korea, AI has surpassed Blockchain, Cloud, and IoT to lead in terms of adoption, accounting for as much as 30% of the total technology solutions deployed in the industry. Japan has achieved a 77% digital transformation rate among insurance companies, ranking third globally, driven by the pressure to address labor shortages amid an aging population.<\/span><\/p>\n

In Vietnam, the Government aims to increase the size of the insurance market to 3.3\u20133.5% of GDP by 2030, compared with the current 1.8%. This represents significant growth potential, with technology serving as a key enabler for achieving this goal as customers increasingly demand faster, more transparent, and more personalized experiences. To respond to this trend, insurers need stable core systems that can be flexibly integrated with banking and financial ecosystems. The combination of foundational technology capabilities and practical experience in the financial and banking sectors is essential to developing digital insurance solutions that truly meet market needs.<\/span><\/p>\n

Speaking at the event, Mr. Tran Dang Hoa, Chairman of FPT IS, FPT Corporation, highly valued Atomi Digital\u2019s position and achievements. The company has established its role within the ecosystems of LPBank and Sacombank through years of collaboration in developing digital banking and cashless payment systems. He said that Atomi\u2019s capabilities in core systems, fintech integration, and banking domain expertise are among the strengths that FPT particularly values.<\/span><\/p>\n
