Creating happiness in the era of digital economy with an ecosystem of 200+ “Made by FPT” solutions

At a discussion session on “Strategies for breakthroughs” on the morning of October 25 as part of Techday 2023, Mr. Bui Dinh Giap – CEO of akaBot – and Mr. Rahul Shinde – Deputy General Director and CIO of Coca-Cola Beverages Vietnam – have discussed the solutions to create the journey of happiness in the era of digital economy in Vietnam.

Beyond agriculture, Vietnam aims to become a tech export powerhouse

For many years, Vietnam has been recognized as one of the leading exporters in the field of rubber, coffee, and many other agricultural products. However, in the future, Mr. Giap has a big dream of making Vietnam a top tech exporter of the world. This is not unrealistic, since Vietnam has had more than 550,000 IT engineers in 2022, and it is expected that the number may triple by 2030. In 2022 alone, more than 1,400 tech enterprises have offered their solutions to the international markets with a recorded 3.7 billion USD in revenue, accounting for 28% of total revenue of the IT sector in Vietnam. Mr. Giap emphasizes that with a strong foundation of human resources and expertise, instead of outsourcing, Vietnam is completely capable of exporting software and solutions to the world.

“In 2022, FPT had invested approximately 5% of revenue to research and develop new solutions, expecting that those will contribute approximately 20% of revenue in the later years”, said Mr. Giap.

In addition, Mr. Giap also presents the “Made by FPT” ecosystem with more than 200 products and solutions that pose a profound impact on many fields, such as the VioEdu solution for the journey of building happiness in schools and for pupils, FPT.eHospital and Long Chau pharmacy to create happiness and improve health for the people. Besides, to create the “Happy working environment and happy employees”, the automation solution akaBot, with 10,000 virtual robots, deployed in 3,500 global enterprises, has helped free 11 million employees from tedious and repetitive operations, saving 21.9 million working hours every year.

Mr. Rahul Shinde says, in parallel with the rapid development of the company and a widespread network of more than 80,000 stores across Vietnam, Coca-Cola Beverages Vietnam has accelerated the process of corporate digital transformation by adopting tech solutions to better manage human resources, support operations and create tools to connect and interact with more than 2,500 employees.

Specifically, Coca-Cola Beverages Vietnam has undergone the 2019 – 2020 and the 2020 – 2022 periods, and is now undergoing the 2023 – 2025 period of digital transformation. As the common situation of the world, the COVID-19 pandemic has caused disruptions in Coca-Cola’s operations in global international markets in general and in the Vietnamese market in particular. Even in such troublesome periods, Coca-Cola keeps their belief that investing in technologies is the right thing to do for enterprises. Mr. Rahul Shinde summarizes two factors to ensure successful corporate digital transformation, which are to Objectively assess and analyze the company’s internal situation before planning for digital transformation, and Evaluate the effectiveness after adopting technologies and conduct constant digital transformation.
