FPT.EMR

With the implementation of FPT.EMR, Hai Phong International Hospital has adopted an extensive and effective electronic medical record system. This is the first hospital in the country to have electronic medical records implemented after being investigated, assessed, and approved by the Vietnam Ministry of Health. Aiming toward a paperless and a smart model, the hospital has fully removed paper medical records.

The hospital is specifically classified at level 7, the highest level of IT application at medical examination/treatment facilities according to regulations in the Vietnam Ministry of Health’s Circular 54 dated December 29, 2017. The Ministry also regards it to be one of the best models of electronic medical records.

In October 2020, at the Quang Ninh General Hospital’s electronic medical record appraisal session, the Department of Information Technology – Vietnam Ministry of Health’s affirmed that the hospital’s IT system complied with the requirements for deploying medical records, fully replacing paper medical records.

Quang Ninh General Hospital has managed more than 130,000 medical records on the FPT.EMR system. The hospital has been approved by Vietnam Social Insurance to appraise online medical records. When Vietnam Social Insurance requested to borrow more than 2,000 records, it took less than a minute to approve and provide access to the medical record appraisal.

According to an assessment from the Department of Information Technology – Vietnam Ministry of Health during the appraisal of electronic medical records at Vinh City General Hospital in late 2019, the hospital has IT infrastructure meeting requirements for deploying medical records, information security, HIS hospital management software and utilities reach level 6/7. Regarding the adoption of electronic medical records (FPT.EMR system), the hospital has reached an advanced level, and the operating management software and non-functional software are of a high caliber.

Doctor Nguyen Hong Truong, the hospital director, claims that FPT.EMR facilitates quicker access to medical services and more accurate tracking of patient information. In addition, it provides practical benefits and assists management agencies in formulating policies.
