FPT launches two strategic centers to accelerate Vietnam’s semiconductor industry
On March 28, 2025, FPT, in collaboration with the National Innovation Center (NIC) and its partners, officially launched the Vietnam Semiconductor Innovation Center (VSIC) and the FPT-Alchip Oversea Design Center (FPT-Alchip ODC) at the office of NIC at Ton That Thuyet in Hanoi. The event was attended by Deputy Minister of Finance, Mr. Nguyen Duc Tam and distinguished representatives from domestic and international semiconductor organizations and companies.
Vietnam Semiconductor Innovation Center (VSIC) – Boosting Vietnam’s Semiconductor Ecosystem
FPT, in collaboration with the National Innovation Center (NIC) and its partners, has launched the Semiconductor Incubation and Development Center (VSIC).
The VSIC was established as a public-private partnership between FPT, NIC, and various tech partners. It aims to provide short-term training, investment consulting, and ecosystem development for Vietnam’s semiconductor sector. Built on three pillars—training, ecosystem connectivity, and business consulting—VSIC is expected to become a hub for technology transfer, innovation, and collaboration in microchip design. Moreover, the launch of VSIC supports FPT’s goal of developing a high-quality semiconductor workforce in Vietnam, targeting 15,000 skilled engineers by 2030.

Mr. Tran Dang Hoa, Chairman of FPT IS and FPT Semiconductor, emphasized that “VSIC will be a cradle for nurturing talent, supporting enterprises, developing technologies, and enabling engineers, lecturers, and students to access cutting-edge technologies.”
FPT-Alchip Oversea Design Center – Strategic Alignment with Taiwan’s Alchip Corporation

As part of the event, FPT and Alchip, which is a leading Taiwanese semiconductor technology company specializing in AI chips, announced the opening of a chip design center in Hanoi. This will mark Alchip’s first international ODC (Oversea Design Center) in Vietnam.
Besides, Mr. Peter Teng, the Vice President of Alchip Technologies Limited, shared that establishing an office in Vietnam is a strategic milestone. It has opened broad collaboration opportunities with Vietnamese engineering talent and further strengthens Alchip’s R&D and semiconductor product development partnership with FPT.

The simultaneous launch of both centers reflects FPT’s strong commitment to human capital development, technological advancement, and a sustainable semiconductor ecosystem. These efforts contribute to positioning Vietnam as an increasingly vital link in the global semiconductor supply chain.
