FPT experts advocate data security solutions for businesses in Ho Chi Minh City
On the afternoon of May 16, 2024, more than 50 leaders from prominent retail, logistics, and manufacturing companies attended the seminar “Information Security: A Top Priority for Business Digital Transformation”, organized by FPT IS in collaboration with FPT Smart Cloud. The event underscored the critical importance of data security in the technological era for both technological experts and businesses, as it can cause potential data, economic, and branding losses, along with the time wasted in incident troubleshooting.
On the topic of “Data breaches and risk mitigation solutions”, Mr. Le Hoang Duong, FPT IS’s Director of Cyber Security Center, highlighted that the average time to detect a compromised system is 285 days. This duration allows cybercriminals to fully understand a business’s operations. The essence of data security lies in businesses elevating their vigilance and enhancing their protective measures to the maximum. Employee awareness, meanwhile, plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe and smooth operation of the entire company system, effectively warding off intruders. Managers should prioritize the establishment of stringent information security compliance regulations and embed them into the corporate culture to heighten the awareness of all employees. Businesses are advised to invest in Security Operations Center (SOC) monitoring services to leverage the technological resources offered by these providers.

On the topic of “Security trends and policies in Vietnam: present and future outlook”, Mr. Pham The Minh, Director of Quality and Compliance at FPT Smart Cloud, shared strategies for safe operations and data security on the Cloud, ensuring secure, continuous operation of IT systems and backup databases in businesses. He emphasized the diversity of the Cloud service ecosystem, which includes over 80 “Made by FPT” products and services, integrated with global partners’ systems and ready for deployment based on the specific nature and requirements of businesses.
At the seminar, Mr. Truong Van Quang, FPT Cloud Solution Architect at FPT Smart Cloud, introduced effective network information security solutions for businesses, including FPT Backup, FPT Disaster Recovery, and FPT Security. This solution set ensures comprehensive system safety and security by backing up and duplicating, partly or entirely, business servers to the cloud computing infrastructure, enabling quick data recovery and maintaining business operations under all circumstances.
The discussion session was highly engaging, with many guests posing questions to the experts and presenting practical case studies or security challenges faced by their businesses, seeking FPT experts’ advice on enhancing data security. FPT experts all agreed that if businesses do not develop data security scenarios early, security breaches will likely result in repeated losses. They also advised businesses to consider building a cloud computing system as part of their protection strategy from the outset.
The seminar concluded with significant insights into the current state of information security, and essential policies and solutions to ensure 24/7 continuous and stable operation of businesses’ IT infrastructures.
