Recently, Bac Giang digital data warehouse has officially been launched, marking an important milestone in handling digital data problems, contributing to accelerating the formation of digital government, as well as the development of digital economy and digital society.

On the morning of October 10, responding to National Digital Transformation Day, the Department of Information and Communications of Bac Giang province has organized Bac Giang Digital Transformation Festival 2022, themed “Digital transformation to handle social problems, towards a better life for the people”. On the occasion of the event, FPT Information System Corporation (FPT IS) and Bac Giang province have officially launched the province’s digital data warehouse. This is one of the key projects of Bac Giang province, part of the plan to develop a digital government in the period of 2022 – 2025.
At the event, Mr. Mai Son, Standing Vice Chairman of Bac Giang Provincial People’s Committee, emphasizes that the province’s key strategy in the coming time is to continue implementing tasks and solutions to promote digital economy and digital society activities, creating a favorable, stable, effective and secure business environment for people and companies in the digital environment. The province will continue to invest in developing and optimizing IT infrastructure platforms, integrating, inter-connecting and sharing local data with key national database systems, central ministry and department database systems, towards building a digital citizen ecosystem.
Digital data warehouse is a system that integrates structured and unstructured data provided by people, companies and municipal government. Meanwhile, this is also a tool to support the management and planning of urban data, formulate shared databases, exploit and formulate value-added data; develop a data ecosystem of local government – people – companies via the mechanism of providing, sharing and contributing data.
Bac Giang province launches a digital data warehouse.
The digital data warehouse will deliver multiple important benefits to people, companies, management agencies and provincial leaders. People and companies will be employed with an open and shared data source. Management agencies can use the shared data warehouse to share data across departments and sectors, avoiding the problem of duplicate or inconsistent data. In addition, data linked across different management agencies will allow provincial leaders to monitor statistics and reports in an effective way to facilitate the administration and decision-making in all socio-economic fields.
Data planning is no longer a tricky problem
The solution to develop a digital data warehouse for Bac Giang province is one of the key digital solutions of FPT IS in promoting digital transformation in provinces and cities. This is the unique, complete suite of Make-in-Vietnam solutions specialized in big data, and has been effectively deployed in multiple provinces and cities across the country.
However, for data planning, technology capability is not enough. A digital data warehouse is only a solution to handle surface problems of data digitalization, the key to handle core problems is the capabilities of planning and orientation based on existing data. Deeply understanding the business and market conditions in Vietnam, FPT IS consults on not only technologies, but also orientations, predictions, and strategic planning for possible problems. The combination of data planning and digital data warehouse will be a comprehensive suite of FPT IS, assisting provinces and cities in digital transformation and development of smart cities.

The digital data warehouse will contribute to building a core data foundation for the smart city platform, aiming towards the formation of a digital government for the province, thereby promoting the development of digital economy, digital society, and digital citizen. We expect that the digital data warehouse will act as the heart of Bac Giang’s digital government, where information of all fields are synchronized, centralized, facilitating provincial leaders in making major administration decisions”, said Mr. Duong Dung Trieu, Chairman of FPT IS.
Previously, FPT IS has successfully implemented digital data warehouse solutions for a number of other provinces and cities, such as Ho Chi Minh city, Can Tho, Tra Vinh, etc. With experience from previous projects, FPT IS has optimized processes and technologies, implemented the digital data warehouse in Bac Giang province in a quick and effective way, putting the warehouse into official operation after just 90 days.
