The cooperation between FPT IS and InSynerger mainly focuses on the delivery of comprehensive solutions for energy management and carbon accounting, tailored to serve enterprises’ needs for optimization of operational efficiency and reduction of energy costs. The partnership also revolves around the offering of other advanced technology solutions designed to support companies’ green transformation, enhancement of management efficiency, and achievement of sustainable development goals.
According to a United Nations report, global carbon emissions need to fall by 45% by 2030 to keep global temperatures from rising more than 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels. This has put enormous pressure on countries and businesses to take prompt action on carbon footprint control and mitigation. A study by McKinsey shows that by 2025, more than 75% of large companies globally will be required to comply with new environmental regulations, including requirements for carbon emissions cut and energy efficiency improvement. In particular, regulations on carbon reporting in the Asian region, including Vietnam, are becoming more stringent, geared towards net zero emissions (NetZero) goal by 2050, as committed by the Governments.
Increasingly tough environmental regulations are forcing enterprises to face challenges posed by not only regulatory agencies but their partners and customers who are showing rising concern about enterprises’ commitments to carbon footprint mitigation and environmental protection. These regulations require companies’ transparent and accurate report on carbon emissions, as well as their implementation of emission reduction strategies to ensure sustainable development. Over 80% of consumers are now willing to pay more for products and services from companies with commitments to environmental protection (according to a survey by Nielsen).
The partnership between FPT IS and InSynerger is driven by the growing demand for technology solutions that can perform accurate carbon accounting and transparent carbon reporting, empowering companies’ compliance with legal regulations and promoting their image as socially and environmentally responsible enterprises.
Under the cooperation agreement, FPT IS will offer a carbon accounting solution, VertZéro. VertZéro enables enterprises to define boundaries and measure emissions in scopes 1, 2, 3; disaggregate multidimensional emissions and access global emission factors. This creates the basis for enterprises to set emission reduction targets (by time, by scope, by Government regulations, and so on), and monitor actual emissions. Once the information is made transparent, the solution helps businesses prepare carbon reports in compliance with: Vietnamese Government’s regulations (Decree 06/2022/ND-CP, ISO 14064-1:2011), International standards (GHG Protocol, IPCC, EPA, ISO 14064-1:2018), and Europe standards (CBAM). VertZéro is currently being adopted by FPT Software and Tran Duc Corporation, serving the two companies’ proactive carbon accounting in 3 scopes (Scope 1, 2, and 3), enabling them to connect and synchronize data from different countries, and develop standard and regionally customized emission factors.
