FPT IS proposes solutions to help Thanh Hoa accelerate the development of digital economy

On the morning of October 19, the Ministry of Information and Communications and the People’s Committee of Thanh Hoa province have jointly organized a seminar to connect supply and demand of IT products and services, targeting the development of digital government, digital economy, and digital society in the Central region in general and Thanh Hoa province in particular. At the seminar, FPT Information System Corporation (FPT IS) has proposed solutions to help Thanh Hoa enhance the quality of digital human resources to promote the development of the digital economy.

Delivering the opening speech, Mr. Mai Xuan Liem – Vice Chairman of Thanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee and Standing Deputy Head of Thanh Hoa Provincial Digital Transformation Steering Committee – affirms that Thanh Hoa takes digital transformation as one of the major focus in the current period. This seminar aims to create a forum for organizations and businesses operating in the IT field to introduce and present proper and practical solutions and applications that contribute to promoting administrative reform, building e-government, developing digital government, digital economy, digital society in Thanh Hoa as well as other provinces in the Central region.

At the event, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Huy Dung highly appreciates the efforts of the People’s Committee of Thanh Hoa in adopting IT for the socio-economic development of the province, in addition to other fields such as industry, agriculture, urban, and tourism. The Deputy Minister hopes that in the coming time, Thanh Hoa will coordinate better with IT businesses to accelerate the process of developing digital government, digital economy, and digital society, moving towards the goal of making the province one of the Top 10 provinces/cities with the best digital transformation indexes in the country.

On behalf of FPT IS – an IT enterprise with 30 years of accompanying provinces/cities across the country in digital transformation, Mr. Nguyen Hong Hai – Head of Education Solutions Department, Government Sector – has delivered a presentation on “Enhancing the quality of digital human resources to contribute to promoting the development of digital economy in Thanh Hoa province”.

According to Mr. Hai, the world of VUCA (Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, and Ambiguity) requires each citizen to be able to flexibly adapt to overcome difficulties and seize opportunities in the context of jobs being transformed and replaced by machines and artificial intelligence. According to the 2019 OECD employment report, 6/10 adult workers lack the necessary digital skills for work.

Therefore, Mr. Hai emphasizes that developing digital citizenship should be a major focus, of which digital education is one of the key factors. Mr. Hai suggests that Thanh Hoa pilot a number of platforms to help form digital education infrastructure, support general training institutions to promote the development of digital citizenship, as well as promote communication and education to change awareness for teachers and learners.

In order to do so, FPT IS presents a suite of Digital education solutions, that has been designed based on advanced 4.0 technologies and successfully deployed at more than 40 Departments of Education, 11,000 schools and organizations with more than 18 million user accounts. As part of the event, representatives from FPT IS and Departments, IT businesses have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to promote the adoption of digital signature. At the exhibition area, FPT IS presents a suite of solutions to accompany provinces/cities in digital transformation such as the Anti-fraud solution for digital identity verification (FPT.IDCheck), Khaothi.Online, FPT Smart Home… that has drawn great attention from the guests.
