FPT and CAC Holdings sign Memorandum of Understanding to foster business collaboration in Japan
Founded in 1966, CAC Holdings has been a leading provider of IT services in Japan for over five decades, serving clients across the globe. In recent years, the company has expanded into developing new products and services powered by artificial intelligence, aiming to deliver solutions that address pressing social challenges. Since 2024, CAC Holdings and FPT have been in discussions and jointly exploring opportunities for new business development and collaboration.
Under the Memorandum of Understanding, FPT and CAC Holdings will consider establishing a joint venture in Japan, focusing on three strategic objectives. First, the two companies aim to promote and deploy their respective products and services—such as FPT’s carbon accounting software VertZéro, the Akabot intelligent automation platform, and semiconductor chip solutions – across Japan and global markets. Second, the partnership will accelerate the delivery of IT infrastructure services, including operations, monitoring, technical support, and semiconductor design services. Lastly, the two sides will collaborate to develop new business models by leveraging their combined pool of expert talent from both CAC Holdings and FPT.
“Through this partnership, by combining the expert resources and strong technological capabilities of both sides, we will jointly deliver innovative services that create positive impact for society, while also serving as a bridge for future cooperation between Vietnam and Japan. By 2030, CAC Holdings aims to become a corporation that brings positive impact to society through technology and ideas. We are committed to developing new business areas that will serve as pillars for the future,” said Mr. Ryota Nishimori, President and CEO of CAC Holdings.
Also at the event, Mr. Trần Đăng Hòa – Chairman of FPT IS, FPT Corporation shared: “We are very pleased to sign this Memorandum of Understanding with CAC Holdings – a partner with a long-standing history, strong technological capabilities, and a vision for sustainable development, especially in areas that create positive value for society through technology.”
Mr. Hoa emphasized that Japan has always been a key strategic market in FPT’s global expansion roadmap. In the first five months of 2025 alone, the Japanese market maintained a strong growth rate of 30.0%, generating revenue of VND 6,066 billion.
“With extensive experience in implementing critical national IT infrastructure projects, strong capabilities in developing high-tech products, and a highly skilled workforce driven by a spirit of innovation, we believe that this collaboration with CAC Holdings will unlock tremendous opportunities. Together, we aim to build a model strategic partnership – not only delivering efficient IT infrastructure services but also creating products and solutions that help address social issues in both Japan and Vietnam, contributing to a shared vision of a sustainable future,” Mr. Hoa said.
According to Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), the size of Japan’s digital transformation market is expected to exceed 30 trillion yen (approximately USD 200 billion) by 2025. Enterprises like CAC Holdings and FPT are expected to play a vital role in pioneering the research and development of advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, robotics, IoT, blockchain, and cloud computing, as well as in transferring, applying, and implementing digital solutions across various sectors of society, thereby fostering sustainable development.
