FPT pledges to support Vietnam in driving Green Data Center development
On September 12, Mr. Pham Tuan – Product Director of VertZéro at FPT Corporation delivered a keynote address titled “Data Centers in the AI Era: Power Challenges and the Net Zero Journey” at the Viet Industry 2025 Data Center Infrastructure Conference. Drawing on FPT’s experience in developing solutions and implementing emission reduction projects for leading enterprises, the FPT expert highlighted the demands, challenges, and initiatives driving the adoption of Green Data Center models.
Mr. Pham Tuan – Product Director of VertZéro, FPT Corporation delivered a keynote on “Data Centers in the AI Era: Power Challenges and the Net Zero Journey.”
The Viet Industry – Cleanfact & RHVAC Vietnam 2025 is an annual event that brings together leading enterprises across sectors such as industrial construction, semiconductor infrastructure, data centers, HVAC, cleanroom technology, mechanical fabrication, and electrical–automation equipment. The event features extensive exhibitions, conference series, and specialized forums, spotlighting key trends in modern industry, including digital transformation, green economy, high-tech manufacturing, and sustainable development.
A highlight of the event is the Vietnam Data Center Infra Techshow 2025, a large-scale forum gathering technology experts, investors, design and construction units, and top solution providers in the data center sector. The forum focuses on development strategies, design guidelines, Uptime Tier standards, and cutting-edge technological trends shaping the future of data centers in Vietnam.
FPT expert proposes technology solutions to advance Green Data Center models
At the event, Mr. Pham Tuan shared his insights in the keynote “Data Centers in the AI Era: Power Challenges and the Net Zero Journey.” Mr. Tuan emphasized that ESG is gradually becoming an indispensable standard for the sustainable development of countries, organizations, and businesses. He highlighted three key aspects driving ESG demand: (1) National Net Zero targets: Vietnam, for example, has committed to achieving Net Zero by 2050, as announced at the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26); (2) Pressure from the CBAM mechanism: Primarily affecting exporters to the EU, this requires companies to measure, report, and pay carbon taxes on emissions generated during the production of impacted goods; (3) Corporate perspective: Businesses must focus on non-financial reporting to enhance brand reputation and attract investment.
As the demand for sustainable development grows increasingly urgent, data center models aligned with ESG standards are emerging as a key trend. According to FPT experts, a data center consuming 1 MW of electricity requires approximately 25.5 liters of water – equivalent to the daily water usage of nearly 300,000 people. This underscores that AI-driven data centers, which demand enormous amounts of power, will also have substantial water requirements in the future. To address these challenges, Mr. Pham Tuan proposed solutions such as energy-efficient cooling, the use of renewable electricity, and the deployment of technology to inventory and monitor emissions.
As a technology partner, FPT is committed to supporting businesses and governments in advancing green transformation and sustainable development. FPT has developed VertZéro, an automated emissions inventory solution that enables organizations and enterprises to measure and manage emissions across the entire supply chain, optimize production processes, conserve energy and resources, and ultimately reduce environmental impact while contributing to climate change mitigation.
By enabling efficient and transparent emissions inventory and reporting, organizations and enterprises can design long-term sustainable development roadmaps across key sectors such as manufacturing, energy, transportation, and construction, thereby accelerating the adoption of green business models and a green economy. VertZéro helps reduce up to 80% of the time and cost associated with greenhouse gas inventories by eliminating manual processes and fully automating emission reporting, ensuring accuracy and transparency. The solution also supports businesses in developing emission reduction plans aligned with Net Zero standards, helping them meet the expectations of global customers and investors.
Leveraging its practical experience in consulting and designing international-standard data centers, FPT is committed to applying technology to help Vietnam build Green Data Centers, Mr. Pham Tuan emphasized.
