Starting in 2025, businesses will be required to conduct greenhouse gas (GHG) inventories according to government regulations, in line with Vietnam’s goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.

In the context of the European Union (EU) implementing the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) to control GHG emissions from imported goods into the EU, and Decision No. 01/2022/QĐ-TTg on the list of sectors and facilities emitting GHGs that must conduct GHG inventories issued by the Prime Minister of Vietnam, approximately 2,000 Vietnamese enterprises fall under the scope of this Decision and are required to be ISO 14064 certified to demonstrate compliance. However, more than half of businesses (67%) admit to facing difficulties due to a lack of clear regulations, guidelines, an overall roadmap, and transparency.

Understanding this, FPT IS is organizing the “Handbook on the Global Greenhouse Gas Inventory Standard ISO 14064-1” to provide solutions to overcome these core challenges through presentations on: Requirements and framework of ISO 14064-1:2018 standard; Roadmap for implementing GHG inventory and ESG reporting for businesses in the key sectors of Energy, Transportation, and Construction; Proposed application of VertZéro technology solutions to support GHG inventory.
