ACB and FPT IS to deploy chip-based ID card verification and robotic process automation solutions
On June 8, FPT Information System Corporation and Asia Commercial Joint Stock Bank (ACB) have signed a cooperation agreement on deploying the Anti-fraud solution for digital identity verification – FPT.IDCheck and Robotic process automation solution – akaBot. This is considered a major milestone of ACB in the journey of comprehensive digital transformation using AI and Robotics technologies.
In the initial phase, ACB will apply FPT.IDCheck for issuing credit cards on ACB One digital bank, performing identity verification when opening accounts and credit cards at distribution channels. The bank will then expand the scope of application to other operations.

FPT.IDCheck is built on the chip-based ID card verification application platform of the Vietnam Ministry of Public Security, allowing to read and verify ID card data and perform facial recognition with absolute accuracy. ACB is a leading bank in adopting digital identity solutions, including FPT.IDCheck.
Previously, the bank has deployed solutions such as eKYC or Video Call Face Identity. By adopting FPT.IDCheck, the bank will have the customer information automatically entered in a complete, quick and accurate way from the information stored in the chip of the ID card. The data is also compared with information stored at the Vietnam Ministry of Public Security, preventing the forgery of identity documents during transactions with the bank. The entire authentication process is convenient for customers and is completely compliant with security regulations in banking services.
On the other hand, ACB also promotes the application of Robotic process automation (RPA) technology, which helps automate repetitive tasks, enhance employee productivity, reduce errors and optimize operating processes, towards digitalizing the entire processes and completing the Digitalization phase at ACB.

Mr. Tu Tien Phat – CEO of ACB – says, this year the bank is planning to automate nearly 300 processes using Robotics and will expand to 1,400 processes by 2025. The expected result is to reduce 1.4 million labor hours of more than 2,000 employees across the bank. “We believe that data analytics and technology will play an important role in optimizing labor productivity and minimizing errors”, said Mr. Phat.
To do so, ACB has chosen FPT IS’ akaBot, a solution with outstanding advantages such as integrated AI and Intelligent Document Processing (IDP). The solution can help handle highly complex tasks that constantly change according to customers’ requirements as well as the operations of the bank. ACB focuses on operations with highly complex factors and many repetitive tasks that require high accuracy, such as credit approval, post-control, document scanning and classification…
