CEO FPT IS: “FPT is ready with technological and human potential to accompany Da Nang’s digital transformation”
In “Meet Da Nang 2024” program, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Minh – CEO of FPT Information System Corporation (FPT IS) emphasized that FPT Group would take advantage of its expertise and experience in digital transformation to accompany Da Nang City to develop new industries such as semiconductors and apply cutting-edge technology such as AI to promote digital transformation and socio-economic development.
The Da Nang People’s Committee recently organized the “Meet Da Nang 2024” event. This event aims to promote the image, strengths and readiness of Da Nang City in international integration, and welcome investment inflow in new critical areas including the high-tech and industrial sectors, semiconductor technology, and financial technology, with the motto “towards sustainable cooperation for development and prosperity”.
Mr. Nguyen Hoang Minh, CEO of FPT IS, who represented FPT Group at the discussion session “Da Nang’s readiness to welcome new waves,” stressed that Da Nang has the potential to keep pace with emerging industries such as semiconductors, AI, and high technology.
“Da Nang is a dynamic city with a plenty of human resources. The city government aims to reach 75,000 people in digital technology by 2025. Additionally, the city leads the nation in three areas: Digital Government, Digital Economy, and Digital Society; the city also leads in the metrics of digital awareness, digital institutions, and digital human resources. In terms of policy, the city government also launched many comprehensive action programs to implement the digital transformation strategy.”, Mr. Minh emphasized.
FPT and Da Nang have a history of strong cooperation on various significant projects. FPT IS, a member of the FPT Group, opened a representative office and R&D center in Da Nang in 2023 with the goal of employing 500 skilled workers in three years to develop technology products under 15 new product groups to address complex problems related to digital transformation, while also fostering an environment that will attract and develop technological talent.
FPT reached a growth milestone of 30 to 40% on average per year in the software export sector, accounting for approximately 70% of the city’s total software export revenue and adding hundreds of billions of dong for Da Nang. Regarding education, as of June 2023, FPT has been training more than 17,500 students, providing Da Nang high quality human resources.
Mr. Nguyen Hoang Minh – CEO of FPT IS emphasized that FPT is ready with all its potential, accompanying Da Nang to create new breakthroughs in 2024.
From the aforementioned statements, FPT wishes to advance technology in tandem with Da Nang City and continuously explore, foster, and capitalize on opportunities in emerging fields such as semiconductor industry, AI, etc.
Regarding AI, in 2023, FPT officially announced the establishment of FPT Automotive company, based in Texas. FPT Automotive will focus on car audio (high-end audio products owned by FPT), integrating AI into solutions for SDV (Software Defined Vehicles), developing CDC solutions (chassis frame controllers) and a complete AUTOSAR automated driving platform to ensure end-to-end development of car software systems.
FPT is the first company in Vietnam to have a commercialized chip line in the semiconductor industry, with the goal of developing Made by FPT and Make in Vietnam chip lines. As per the national resource development plan, FPT University and FPT Polytechnic will train 10,000 semiconductor engineers (there will be 50,000 semiconductor engineers by 2050). FPT also collaborates with numerous major international partners such as U.S Technology Expert Organization – TreSemi and Silvaco to develop semiconductor human resources.
In particular, FPT is focusing on building an innovation ecosystem with over 200 Made by FPT products in order to serve a large number of domestic and international clients. Revenue from the Made by FPT technology ecosystem grew by 41% to VND 1,620 billion in 2023. The company has achieved a significant milestone by recording USD 1 billion in revenue from information technology services provided to foreign customers.

“Meet Da Nang 2024” is a forum where the city presents integration policy directions and development priorities. It also provides a platform for partners to exchange multifaceted perspectives from international guests, businesses, governments, and diplomats regarding the city’s readiness and their expectations for it going forward. As the opening event of 2024, it promises to open up many new connection opportunities between Da Nang City and its partners.
