Digital transformation in Healthcare: FPT devotes itself to the benefits of the community
Recently, Hanoi Medical University Hospital has held a “2021 Annual Scientific Conference” for participants to report and discuss recent research results, advances, and ideas in improving the quality of diagnosis, examination and treatment towards comprehensive healthcare for the patients in particular and the community in general. Particularly, this is the first year an in-depth seminar on medical IT has ever been held with the theme of “Digital Transformation: Opportunities and Challenges”. Representative of FPT Information System Co., Ltd (FPT IS) has attended the seminar and delivered a presentation on “Digital hospital on a comprehensive solution platform”.

This is a new area for professionals and researchers to study and promote the application of IT, changing the conventional thinking that technologies only play a supporting role in professional work (using medical machinery and equipment, or management software). In fact, technologies will help open the door to the future with the ultimate goals of better treatment for the patients and better health for the people.”

FPT.eHospital 2.0+ is a comprehensive hospital management system, including Hospital Information System (HIS), Laboratory Information System (LIS), Radiology Information System (RIS), Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS), Electronic Medical Records (EMR), as well as Financial and Operational Control, Integration and Connection, Administration, and Smart New Application modules.
Particularly, FPT IS has developed the Electronic medical record management system (FPT.EMR) as a stand-alone software, allowing medical facilities to manage complete patients’ treatment information on a common system, aiming towards a paperless and smart hospital model. Up to now, the Vietnam Ministry of Health has allowed the implementation of FPT.EMR in 5 hospitals. Of which, Hai Phong International Hospital is the first hospital in the country to successfully deploy electronic medical records, and is currently seen as a typical model on electronic medical records highly appreciated by the Ministry. Besides, FPT.EMR is also being deployed at multiple public and private hospitals, hospital/clinics chain across the country such as Hoan My Medical Corporation, Medlatec General Hospital, Military Hospital 105, Bac Giang General Hospital… After being launched in the coming time, the software is expected to bring “a breath of fresh air” to such facilities.
FPT.eHospital 2.0+ – An intelligent and comprehensive hospital management system developed by FPT IS since 2000.
Putting the patients at the center of the system, FPT.eHospital 2.0+ suite allows hospitals to modernize most of their processes to offer patients utmost comfort and convenience during their examination/treatment process. Patients are connected to the hospital for two-way and real-time interaction via smartphone applications, and are able to perform medical examination/treatment procedures themselves using smart Kiosks… This helps the patients keep track of their medical examination/treatment status, and dramatically reduces the time waiting for services. The system also allows doctors, nurses, technicians, financial staff as well as hospital management to achieve the highest working performance.
In 2021, FPT IS has deployed the solution at more than 36 field hospitals across the country to join hands with the Government and the Health sector to fight Covid-19. The Company has also been closely cooperating with the Department of Health of Ho Chi Minh City to develop solutions for Covid-19 control and protect the people.
At the end of the presentation, Mr. Nguyen Chi Tien affirms that FPT has always been devoting itself to changes for the people and development of the Health sector via the digital health ecosystem, with a comprehensive, self-contained architecture, serving multiple groups of user including management executives (sectoral level, local authority level, hospital level), doctors, nurses and especially the people. Thereby, it contributes to accelerating the digital transformation of the Health sector in all aspects, delivering new digital experience and more benefits to the people, enhancing the quality of medical examination and treatment, as well as the management and administration activities at hospitals and Departments of Health.
