FPT and enterprises in Hai Duong “start smart” to exploit digital data
On October 10 at the National Digital Transformation Day, the Department of Information and Communications, Department of Industry and Trade of Hai Duong province, and FPT Corporation have jointly organized a seminar on digital transformation for SMEs in the province. Themed “Start smart to exploit digital data and create breakthrough values for businesses”, the seminar has recorded many strategic solutions to help local enterprises accelerate the process of digital transformation and promote business activities.
The event welcomes Mr. Tran Duc Thang – Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Digital Transformation Steering Committee of Hai Duong province; Mr. Tran Van Quan – Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee; Leaders and specialists of the Provincial People’s Committee Office; Leaders of the Department of Information and Communications, Department of Industry and Trade; Leaders and specialists from member companies of FPT Corporation, and representatives of approximately 200 enterprises in the province.
Delivering the opening speech, Mr. Tran Duc Thang – Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Digital Transformation Steering Committee of Hai Duong province – says: “Hai Duong is one of the provinces pioneering in promulgating policies on Digital transformation for the entire province, and the first province in the country to have a day of digital transformation. Hai Duong province has been focusing on implementing institutions and policies to reform administrative procedures associated with the application of technologies, building an e-government model with an aim towards digital government. In particular, the province focuses on promoting the provision of investment information and handling administrative procedures online in order to improve the business environment, welcome and create conditions for enterprises and investors to interact with state agencies through the electronic environment. In the coming time, Hai Duong will implement many policies to support enterprises in the area such as Incorporation, Trade/industry promotion and support, Training on the connection between banks and enterprises, especially SMEs, and Interest rate support”.

By 2022, more than 98% of enterprises in Vietnam are under the small and medium-sized category. The big challenge for SMEs is how to keep pace with the rapid and strong changes of Industry 4.0 and the world’s digital economy. Taking advantage of the potential of digital transformation to promote the operations and business of the SMEs, not only enterprises but also the digital economy of Vietnam will see major breakthroughs.
At the seminar, updates on digital transformation recommendations for SMEs according to the guidance of the Ministry of Information and Communications, solutions recognized by the Ministry, as well as the platform to assess the digital maturity level of enterprises have been presented by Mr. Nguyen Minh Kha – Deputy Director of the Department of Information and Communications of Hai Duong. “Promoting the development of digital economy with a focus on developing digital technology enterprises, Shifting from IT outsourcing to digital tech and Industry 4.0 product making, Developing digital contents, smart industry, foundational economy, sharing economy, e-commerce, and smart manufacturing are major priorities. SMEs need to determine their current situation to set appropriate digital transformation goals and seek appropriate directions, and finally select the solutions and develop an implementation roadmap”, emphasized Mr. Kha.

“The application of IT and digital transformation in enterprises have been strongly deployed. There have been 266 digital technology enterprises, 187 digital platform enterprises, and 8,330 SMEs registered for the program to support enterprises in digital transformation across the entire province. The rate of enterprises paying taxes electronically has reached 99.58%. In 2022, the digital economy has accounted for about 14.36% of the province’s GRDP. Identifying that enterprises act as the core force in implementing the application of digital technologies while the local authority plays a management role, establishes infrastructure and creates favourable environment for development, the solutions for digital transformation and digital economy will encourage enterprises to approach and operate in the digital economy environment, thereby increasingly promoting production and business activities of enterprises and contributing to the economic and social development of the province as well as the country. In the coming time, the Department of Industry and Trade of Hai Duong will focus and synchronously deploy solutions to effectively implement the Project on the “Digital economic development of the Industry and Trade sector for the period to 2030″ according to Decision No. 1753/QD- BCT dated July 6, 2023 of the Ministry of Industry and Trade”, said Mr. Vu Cong – Head of General Planning, Department of Industry and Trade of Hai Duong.
