FPT University and Gachon University have signed a cooperation agreement to successfully launch an exchange training program between Vietnam and South Korea

FPT University and Gachon University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), laying the foundation for academic initiatives aligned with Vietnam’s national roadmap to train 10,000 semiconductor engineers by 2040.

Under this partnership, the two institutions will jointly implement two flagship training programs:

  • Short-term training program: FPT University students will have the opportunity to participate in an intensive one-month program at Gachon University’s state-of-the-art semiconductor laboratories in South Korea. Equivalent to 135 academic hours (9 credits), the program offers hands-on experience with world-class semiconductor technology.
  • Gachon–FPTU College of Semiconductor: The two universities will co-develop a specialized semiconductor curriculum under the name “Gachon–FPTU College of Semiconductor.” This forward-looking initiative will adopt Gachon University’s training model, aiming to establish Vietnam’s first dedicated semiconductor-focused university. A 2+2 joint program will also be available for FPT University’s Integrated Circuit (IC) Design students, with the final two years of study conducted at Gachon University. Participants will receive tuition support, along with an additional stipend of 1 million KRW for students achieving TOPIK Level 4 or higher in Korean proficiency. Those continuing to a Master’s degree will also be eligible for full scholarships.
