FPT and IBM Vietnam empower enterprises to accelerate transformation with AI
Amid the global wave of digital transformation, the rise of AI-driven innovation has become a strategic imperative rather than a choice. Artificial intelligence now plays a critical role in driving business growth and sharpening competitive advantage. To support Vietnamese enterprises in unlocking the full potential of AI, FPT Corporation, in collaboration with IBM Vietnam, hosted the seminar “The Next AI-Driven Business Move – Empowering Enterprises to Break Through with AI.”
Seminar “The Next AI-Driven Business Move – Empowering Enterprises to Break Through with AI”
The event brings together top executives and leading technology experts to share strategic and practical insights on how businesses can harness AI solutions and infrastructure to overcome challenges, optimize operations, and drive sustainable growth in an increasingly volatile world.
Mr. Đinh Tiên Hoàng, representing FPT, speaks at the event
Delivering the opening address, Mr. Đinh Tiên Hoàng – Senior Vice President and Deputy Director of Enterprise Division at FPT IS – highlighted the rapid rise in global AI adoption. “According to recent surveys, the proportion of enterprises using AI in at least one area has surged from 33% in 2022 to 72% in 2024. The global AI services market is forecast to reach USD 243 billion by 2025, growing at an average rate of 28% per year,” he noted. “AI is no longer a passing trend – it has become a critical component of business management and operations strategy.”
However, AI adoption still poses significant challenges, including fragmented data infrastructure, difficulties integrating with legacy systems, shortage of skilled personnel, and strict requirements for security and transparency. Through this seminar, FPT and IBM Vietnam aim to help businesses overcome these barriers and define an effective, focused, and sustainable AI strategy.
AI: The New Competitive Edge for Business
Mr. Vương Quân Ngọc – Consulting Director at FPT Digital, FPT Corporation, delivers keynote address
In his keynote address “AI Landscape and Business Applications,” Mr. Vương Quân Ngọc – Consulting Director at FPT Digital – emphasized the growing role of AI in core operations. “Today, 72% of businesses globally apply AI in at least one operational area, and 64% use AI across multiple business functions,” he shared.
AI is becoming a strategic tool for optimizing manufacturing and distribution. In production, it enables real-time quality control, predictive maintenance, and anomaly detection. In distribution, AI synchronizes systems to flexibly adjust production plans and minimize inventory. For sales and marketing, AI analyzes consumer behavior to personalize experiences and product recommendations.
In retail and consumer services, AI acts as an “intelligent assistant” that enhances customer experience, streamlines operations, and drives revenue growth. From customer service to operations management, AI lightens workloads through smart tools such as chatbots, intelligent search, efficient call routing, and wait-time measurement. Insights drawn from user behavior help personalize journeys, automate CRM, and improve service quality.
Mr. Ngọc also outlined a five-level roadmap for AI adoption. At Level 1 – Awareness, businesses build foundational knowledge and trust in AI’s value. Level 2 – Proactive involves piloting prioritized use cases for early wins. With a foundation in place, companies enter Level 3 – Operational, where they evaluate effectiveness and scale applications based on clear priorities. At Level 4 – Systemized, AI is fully integrated into existing systems for stability and process optimization. Finally, Level 5 – Transformational positions AI as the foundation for new business models and an intelligent enterprise ecosystem.
Leadership plays a critical role in AI transformation – from setting strategic direction to building a culture of innovation. “Don’t rely solely on past tools – embrace an AI First mindset and make AI a habit,” he urged.
AI Data: The Core Fuel Driving the AI Engine
In the keynote “Boosting Performance and Innovation with IBM’s AI Infrastructure,” Mr. Phạm Thanh Tùng – Data & AI Solution Senior Consultant at IBM Vietnam – shared how AI has evolved from analytics to becoming a form of “digital labor,” actively performing tasks across IT, HR, finance, and customer service.

At IBM, AI-powered virtual assistants now support nearly 300,000 employees worldwide, automating up to 80% of routine requests—from access management and password resets to HR record management and financial forecasting. This has halved the IT department’s workload and reshaped organizational behavior, enabling true digital transformation.
Yet while AI interest is rising among Vietnamese enterprises, only about a quarter have implemented it at scale. Mr. Trần Quang Huy – Storage Solutions Consultant at IBM Vietnam – emphasized: “If AI is the engine, data is the fuel. Although data volumes are growing exponentially, only 1% is actually used for AI.”
With data scattered across public cloud, private cloud, on-premise systems, and personal platforms like Google Drive, efficient and secure storage and access are growing concerns—especially as businesses aim to reach Level 3 AI maturity with high-performance GPU-based processing.
IBM experts introduced the IBM Global Data Platform, a hardware-software solution that consolidates distributed data into a centralized processing space. Leveraging smart caching, it enables rapid access without duplication, and uses auto-tiering to shift inactive data to lower-cost storage. This empowers businesses with secure, cost-effective data control and readiness for complex AI workloads.
“AI Made by FPT”: Tailored Solutions for Vietnamese Business Needs
Mr. Chu Mạnnh Hướng, a representative of FPT, stated that AI also possesses five core capabilities – serving as a “digital sense” that enables businesses to operate more swiftly and efficiently
“Just like humans rely on sight, hearing, touch, smell, and taste to sense the world, AI has five core capabilities – its ‘digital senses’ – that help businesses operate faster, more accurately, and more intelligently,” said Mr. Chu Mạnh Hướng – Head of Enterprise Business Solution Department, FPT IS, FPT Corporation. These capabilities are embedded throughout FPT’s enterprise AI solution ecosystem, delivering impactful results across functions.
In HR, FPT.iHRP uses AI to streamline recruiting, resume analysis, behavioral assessment, attendance, and payroll. Meanwhile, FPT.AI Mentor personalizes learning paths and reduces training time from months to 3–6 weeks.
