FPT and Indian companies enhance connectivity towards digital partnership
At Vietnam – India Digital Partnership Forum 2022 themed “Fostering connectivity toward the Digital partnership”, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Viet, CTO of FPT IS, emphasizes that comprehensive cooperation with India is a key strategy of the Company in the coming time.
As part of the series of events of the International Digital Week 2022, Vietnam – India Digital Partnership Forum 2022 themed “Fostering connectivity toward the Digital partnership” has been jointly held on October 13, 2022 by Vietnam Ministry of Information and Communications and the Indian Embassy in Vietnam to promote joint digital transformation programs and activities of the two countries.
The forum has been attended by senior representatives as well as companies of the two countries.
At the forum, Mr. Trieu Minh Long, Head of Department of International Cooperation, Vietnam Ministry of Information and Communications, affirms the importance of promoting digital cooperation with India: “The governments of Vietnam and India have elevated the cooperation to comprehensive partnership, meanwhile, 2022 is also the 50th anniversary of the cooperation relationship between the two countries. With a long history of cooperation, the two countries have been together developing and implementing various strategic programs to fully exploit the potentials and promote economic development. However, in the field of IT, we must admit that the cooperation between the two countries is below expectations, despite the two sides’ efforts to implement programs on human resource training, exchanging of machinery and equipment, and industrial cooperation. The two governments have both agreed on the need to intensify efforts in digital cooperation towards building comprehensive digital technology partnership”.

Mr. Long has also set a “major task” for FPT and IT companies in Vietnam to create a bridge to promote digital cooperation between the two countries. With almost three decades operating in the field of IT and cooperating with companies around the world, FPT has been pioneering in digital transformation at not only domestic but also international markets, of which India is one of the very first and long-standing markets of the Company.

On behalf of the Indian government, Mr. Subhash P. Gupta, Deputy Ambassador of India in Vietnam, emphasizes that the two countries are highly “spiritually-minded” regarding the goals of digital transformation: “Vietnam has emerged as one of the centers of digital technology and IT – Communications in the ASEAN region. According to the National Digital Transformation Strategy approved by the Prime Minister, Vietnam is aiming for the digital economy to account for 20% of GDP by 2025 and approximately 30% of GDP by 2030. Also according to the Strategy, Vietnam has also been focusing on developing digital government, digital economy, digital society, and incorporating digital companies. Similarly, in accordance with the Digital India Mission, the Government of India aims to transform India into an economy and society driven by digital technologies via building digital infrastructure as core utility for all the people, performing governance and delivering services on demand, enhancing citizenship via digital technologies. India truly expects that, on the occasion of today’s forum, the two countries will be able to establish a vision for digital society in Vietnam and digital economy programs in India, conduct activities to create more investment opportunities, and strengthen cooperation in new areas such as digital transformation”.
With the support and facilitation of the governments of the two countries, as well as the Company’s own experience and in-depth technical knowledge, FPT is more than ready to accompany and cooperate in a more extensive way with Indian companies, contributing to promoting digital transformation, realizing the goals of digital government, digital economy and digital society in accordance with the Strategy approved by the Government of Vietnam.
The event is expected to promote joint digital transformation programs and activities of the two countries.
