FPT and the Hope Foundation start the year with a goodwill mission to Ha Giang.
At the beginning of 2025, on January 2nd and 3rd, a volunteer team from FPT, in collaboration with the Hope Foundation, organized a meaningful trip to two remote districts of Ha Giang province – Hoang Su Phi and Dong Van. The trip was part of the “New Look for Our Schools” project, with a total budget of 500 million VND, bringing a new look to schools and many practical gifts, contributing to sharing the warmth of FPT employees with children and local people.
Hoang Su Phi, a mountainous border district in western Ha Giang, is renowned for its majestic terraced rice fields, but its people face many hardships. One-third of the population lives in remote mountainous areas with difficult terrain, limited infrastructure, and inadequate schools often in a state of disrepair and lacking learning equipment.

On the afternoon of January 2nd, at U Khu Su School, part of Tu Nhan Kindergarten, the FPT volunteer team and the Hope Foundation held a handover ceremony for 9 “New Look for Our Schools” renovation projects at kindergartens in the district, with a total value of 270 million VND. The team also donated meaningful gifts to Tu Nhan Kindergarten, including: 1 Kangaroo water purifier, 10 folding mattresses, 55 fleece blankets, and 65 gift boxes of snacks for the children.
Expressing her deep gratitude, Ms. Hoang Bich Thuy, Principal of Tu Nhan Kindergarten, said: “Hoang Su Phi is a district facing immense challenges, with many impoverished families. The support from the Hope Foundation and FPT has transformed our schools, bringing joy to both students and their parents. The practical gifts, such as blankets, mattresses, and a water purifier, have significantly enhanced the children’s learning and living environment.

On this occasion, the volunteer team also planted two wild peach trees at the school, symbolizing the hope for a brighter future in this remote and challenging border region.
Leaving Hoang Su Phi on the afternoon of January 3rd, the volunteer team continued their journey to Dong Van district, the northernmost part of Vietnam, famous for its majestic stone plateau and the Mong ethnic minority. However, behind the pristine natural beauty lie many social and economic difficulties. Most people here make a living from agriculture, but the harsh natural conditions make farming a challenging task.

Handover Ceremony at Ma Xi School. At Ma Xi School, part of Ma Le Primary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities, the team handed over three renovation projects worth 130 million VND and donated many practical gifts including blankets, mattresses, milk, and Tet gifts to students and local people.
Mr. Do Van Bac, Deputy Principal of Ma Le Primary School, shared: “Ma Xi School currently has 66 students in grades 1 and 2, 100% of whom are Mong ethnic minority. Their families are all farmers, and their lives are still very difficult. The support from FPT and the Hope Foundation not only helps to improve the school but also serves as a great encouragement, helping students love school more and continue to strive in their studies.”

The bright eyes and cheerful smiles of the teachers and students here were the greatest gift the volunteer team received. The “New Look for Our Schools” journey will continue, carrying with it seeds of hope sown in difficult lands. As a result, every step of the highland children will be more steady, and every dream of going to school will be more complete, opening up a brighter future.
