FPT becomes a partner providing technology services for Vingroup and VinFast electric vehicles
On April 10, Vingroup and FPT Corporation signed a comprehensive cooperation agreement to promote green transformation in Vietnam. This agreement opens up opportunities for member companies to collaborate and expand in a sustainable and environmentally friendly direction. Together, these leading local companies are implementing a ground-breaking green transformation cooperation that aims to build a green Vietnam in the present and the future.
Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa – CEO of FPT Corporation signed a cooperation agreement with Mr. Nguyen Viet Quang – CEO of Vingroup.
As stipulated in the cooperation agreement, Vingroup, FPT Corporation, and the member companies are expected to collaborate to develop new projects that bring significant value and benefits to society in a green and sustainable way.
Vingroup has committed to supporting and giving priority to FPT’s technological products and services based on the needs of the group and its member companies. Additionally, Vingroup will assist FPT in growing its customer base to include employees of Vingroup member companies. The smart electric car manufacturer VinFast, a Vingroup member company, will consider prioritizing the use of FPT’s automotive software technology as well as IT infrastructure and equipment services.
FPT also supports Vingroup’s green transformation strategy and program, particularly VinFast. FPT will coordinate communication about and promotion of VinFast electric vehicles and other green products of Vingroup to FPT’s employees and member companies, organize test drive programs to help more people understand the advantages of electric cars over gasoline-powered cars, and practically contribute to the green transition.
Speaking at the cooperation agreement signing ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Viet Quang – CEO of Vingroup said: “Green transformation is a major policy that Vietnam is pursuing towards net-zero goals by 2050 and which the government has committed to at the COP26 Conference on combating global climate change. Aware of our roles and responsibilities, Vingroup and FPT Corporation have signed a comprehensive cooperation agreement to promote green transformation in Vietnam, thereby joining hands with the government and people to create a more sustainable green future. This agreement also helps the two parties maximize our potential, and support each other to develop stronger in the global market, contributing to successfully building elite Vietnamese brands in high industry and technology.”

FPT’s CEO Nguyen Van Khoa stated that FPT and Vingroup shared the same vision of sustainable green development and the desire for global expansion. Over the past 35 years, FPT has continuously improved its management capacity to meet the most advanced sustainable development standards. In 2023, FPT was the only technology stock among 20 constituent stocks in the VNSI (Vietnam Sustainability Index) portfolio ranked by the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HOSE). FPT commits to spearheading initiatives to reduce the impact of greenhouse gas emissions to reach net-zero by 2040 and positively impact on the living, working and learning environments of more than one million workers by 2035.

In 2023, Vingroup founded the For Green Future Foundation to implement environmental initiatives using funds taken from the member companies’ sales of environmentally friendly products and services.
In particular, VinFast, the Group’s smart electric automobile brand, has produced and marketed six electric car lines, eight electric motorbike lines, and one electric bus model. In the future, the brand will also offer electric bicycles, mini SUVs, pickup trucks, and other vehicles to meet a variety of green mobility needs for the Vietnamese and international markets. VinFast is actively growing its wide-ranging business network throughout North America, Europe, Asia and Africa. In addition to its factory in Hai Phong, VinFast is also promoting the opening of factories in the US, India and Indonesia.
FPT Corporation has also carried out many practical and meaningful activities towards the goal of green transformation and set a target of reducing total greenhouse gas emissions by 15.8% by 2030.
