FPT gives away 1,000 computers to students in Ha Giang province
On the afternoon of June 20, at Ha Giang Teacher Training College, FPT Corporation has given away 1,000 computers to schools in the province in order to assist teaching and learning in the schools, support the implementation of the general education program in school year 2022 – 2023, meanwhile, promote digital transformation in education and training sector of the province.
This is one of the activities in the Cooperation agreement to promote digital transformation in Ha Giang province in the period of 2021 – 2025 between FPT Corporation and Ha Giang Provincial People’s Committee, dated June 23, 2021. Via the agreement, both sides expect to strongly promote digital transformation in Ha Giang province, specifically, comprehensive and complete transformation from state agencies to people and enterprises in terms of lifestyle, working style, production and consumption model based on digital technologies, with an aim to soon turn Ha Giang into a digital transformation center in the northern mountainous region. Besides, FPT Corporation will also assist the province to actively participate in the Industry 4.0, develop a digital platform for multi-way interconnection, enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of state management and administration of Party committees and authorities at all levels in the province.

Ms. Ha Thi Minh Hanh, Member of the Executive Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Ha Giang Province, says: “Ha Giang is a mountainous and border province, located at the northernmost tip of the country, having importantly strategic position both economically and socially. In recent years, the province has been effectively promoting its potential and strengths in all aspects, especially, addressing the enhancement of education and training quality as the top priority.
Ha Giang province currently has 404 schools and 187,368 students with high demands for IT learning. However, the facilities and equipment for education in the province are still limited. FPT Corporation’s give-away of 1,000 computers to schools in the province is of great significance, equipping schools with advanced computer rooms, providing maximum support for computer science teaching and knowledge for both teachers and students in the digital era. For Ha Giang province in general and education in particular, the give-away is essential for teaching and learning activities to access digital knowledge sources, thereby raising awareness and education quality in the province, responding to educational innovation and digital transformation in accordance with the current general education program. It is expected that the students will strongly benefit from this meaningful and timely give-away from FPT Corporation for the coming school years.”
Ms. Ha Thi Minh Hanh, Member of the Executive Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Ha Giang Province, highly appreciates the give-away and expects FPT to continue to accompany and assist the province in the digital transformation journey.
At the ceremony, on behalf of FPT, Mr. Duong Dung Trieu, Chairman of FPT Information System Corporation (FPT IS), affirms that FPT always upholds the Corporation’s mission and responsibility which is to bring IT technologies closer within the reach to allow people in any region to access policies in a quick and effective way, especially people in mountainous areas to keep up with people in the lowlands in all aspects in the spirit of “No one is left behind”.
“A give-away of 1,000 computers is not such a big one, hopefully it will be a valuable encouragement for students, teachers, and educators on the journey of exploring technology knowledge. We also expect the computers will open the door so that the future generations of Ha Giang province will soon access and familiarize themselves with IT and digital services, prepare themselves as digital citizens and be ready to inherit the digital society of the future”, said Mr. Trieu.
Mr. Trieu also pledges that FPT Corporation will put in resources of the best quality and accompany the province to tackle digital transformation issues, proceeding in the right direction and achieving the desired goals set by leaders of the province, delivering positive impacts to the province’s socio-economic development.

In the coming time, FPT Corporation will join hands with Ha Giang province to implement specific cooperation programs in the field of digital transformation, aiming towards the development of digital government, digital economy and digital society. First of all, both sides will focus on promoting digital transformation in healthcare, education, tourism, and soon deploy an Operation center to conduct support programs and create the most favourable conditions for people in the province to make non-cash payments.
