FPT IS and HCMC Metro announce an IT system deployment plan for Metro Line 1 O&M Company’s Office
On the morning of May 24, 2024, the Management Authority for Urban Railways (MAUR), Ho Chi Minh City Urban Railways No. 1 Company Limited (HURC1), and the Joint Venture of NTT Vietnam Solutions Limited and FPT IS Company Limited (NTT-FPT IS Joint Venture) held a ceremony to announce the deployment plan for the IT system at the O&M Company’s Office of the HCMC Metro Line 1 Project, section Ben Thanh – Suoi Tien (Contract Package No.4 – CP4)”.

This project marks a significant milestone as the first digital transformation initiative in Vietnam’s urban railway sector and represents the final step towards completing the HCMC Metro Line 1 Project. The IT system, implemented by the NTT-FIS Joint Venture, will be utilized at the O&M Company’s office and integrated with the station management system. It is anticipated to assist in line operations, serving over 60 million passengers annually.
FPT IS and HCMC Metro announced the IT system deployment plan for the O&M Company’s Office operating Metro line No.1 (Ben Thanh – Suoi Tien).
The project, slated for completion this year, includes five main IT systems deployed by FPT IS, namely SAP, Human Resources and Payroll Management System – FPT.iHRP, Electronic Invoice Solution – FPT.eInvoice, Digital Government Solution Suite – FPT.dGOV, and Process Digitization and Automatic Assignment Solution – FPT.SPro. Additionally, it will integrate key functions such as Automated Fare Collection (AFC) and Materials Management System (MMS) with standard ERP processes.
At the event, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Hien, MAUR’s Deputy Director, emphasized the importance of Contract Package No.4 in establishing a software system to support future operations. He expressed hope that the IT system in CP4 will enhance operational management, task specialization, and efficiency, ultimately meeting MAUR’s management needs while boosting productivity and reducing costs for rapid and sustainable development.
Mr. Nguyen Quoc Hien, MAUR’s Deputy Director emphasized the importance of the Contract Package No.4 in establishing a software system to support future operations.
Mr. Tran Dang Thanh, HURC1’s Deputy Director, also affirmed the necessity of CP4 for the operation of Metro Line No. 1 (Ben Thanh-Suoi Tien). He hopes the project will be a crucial step towards the completion of Metro Line No.1.

Responding to the above expectations, Mr. Junjiro Yuba – Chief Executive Officer of NTT Vietnam gave the following commitment, “We will do our utmost to implement the project with all our strength and responsibility. We believe that through close cooperation, we can create positive impacts on society and improve the quality of life for the Vietnamese people. Additionally, this will contribute significantly to the development of Metro Line 1 and exceed all expectations from our customers and the community.”
