FPT IS and University of Education – Vietnam National University, Hanoi cooperate to promote digital transformation
The University of Education (UEd) under the Vietnam National University, Hanoi, and FPT IS Company Limited recently signed an official cooperation agreement to implement digital transformation in the field of education, coordinating their efforts to develop technology application products tailored for assessing and measuring learners’ capacity and integrate them into the Khaothi.Online platform. The cooperation project is expected to introduce ground-breaking and innovative products in terms of expertise and technology in educational measurement and assessment in Vietnam.

Digital transformation in the education sector is being encouraged and prioritized by the Vietnamese Government. A series of policies that promote digital transformation in this sector have been issued. These include regulations on the application of information technology in educational management, operation, teaching, and assessment of learning outcomes; organizing online training programs and designing regulations on graduate and undergraduate distance learning courses; and issuing regulations on the development, management, operation, and utilization of the education sector’s database system.
Leveraging encouraging and supporting policies, the University of Education, one of nine member universities of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, becomes the only higher education institution in Vietnam offering all three programs of bachelor, master and doctorate degrees in measurement and evaluation in education.
With 30 years of experience and prestige in the information technology sector, FPT IS will cooperate with UEd to develop a suite of technology products tailored for assessment and measurement of learners’ competencies for personalized learning. In addition, the two parties will work together and develop plans to fine-tune and implement capacity, psychological and non-cognitive assessments for diverse learners. The partnership with FPT IS is expected to expand the use of modern technology applications in the education sector among graduate and PhD students at UEd.
As part of this partnership, FPT IS will also directly implement certain artificial intelligence (AI) applications designed to tackle measurement and assessment problems in education. In terms of expertise and technology, the collaboration between experts in two fields, technology, and educational measurement and assessment in education, promises to yield many ground-breaking and innovative products in both educational testing and education and training in Vietnam. The finished products will be fully integrated into the Khaothi.Online platform developed by FPT IS.
Khaothi.Online is known as a comprehensive platform supporting the digital transformation of examination, assessment, and issuance of certificates of recognition of general individual competence in accordance with the TCVN ISO/IEC 17024:2012 standard. It includes subsystems such as application management, question bank development and management, exam organization, result reporting and analysis, and certificate management. In addition to a wide range of comprehensive features and fully customizable utilities, Khaothi.Online offers technologies such as verification of candidates’ identification through the National Population Database of the Ministry of Public Security and online monitoring. The platform also adopts the item response theory and other modern methodologies in educational measurement and assessment. The system is currently serving more than 400 agencies, organizations, schools, 19,000 individual users, and 800,000 candidates nationwide. Khaothi.Online enables simpler and more convenient examination process than ever before , reduces cheating, and guarantees fairness for all candidates.

At the event, Associate Professor Dr. Tran Thanh Nam, Vice Rector of the University of Education, expressed: “We expect that this cooperation will be a strong driving force for digital transformation in the education sector, applying to not only UEd but also a wide range of training institutions across Vietnam. Introducing ideas on testing technologies and professional products of the University of Education to the Khaothi.Online platform is the first step of UEd towards the realization of this vision. Hopefully, the combined strengths of the two parties will result in new breakthroughs in the digital transformation of education in terms of both measurement and evaluation, and other areas of education.”

The signing of the cooperation agreement between the University of Education, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, and FPT IS Company Limited not only affirms the partnership and determination of both parties in raising the quality of education in the Vietnam, but also creates a plethora of new opportunities for future collaboration and development. This agreement is expected to serve as a solid stepping stone for the two parties to keep on promoting innovation initiatives, which will bring practical benefits to the Vietnamese education sector.
