FPT IS partners with South Korean tech giant to promote international standard green transformation solutions
FPT IS and SK C&C have recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to form a strategic partnership for researching and developing SK C&C’s Net Zero factory in Southeast Asia. The collaboration also aims to develop technology solutions that promote international-standard green transformation , meeting the growing demands of customers in industrial fields regarding ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance), not only in South Korea and Vietnam but also globally.
The MOU signing ceremony was held within the framework of the Vietnam-Korea Digital Forum 2024 at Nuritkum Square, Seoul. Organized by the Vietnam Software and IT Services Association (VINASA) in collaboration with the National IT Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA), a Korean non-profit government’s agency under the Ministry of Science & ICT, and KOSA Plus, the event sought to connect Korean and Vietnamese technology enterprises and promote effective digital and green transformation between the two countries.
Under the MOU, FPT IS and SK C&C will jointly develop technology solutions of green transformation for global businesses, with a focus on Vietnam, Korea, and Southeast Asia. The partnership will leverage each company’s technological capabilities and solutions for ESG, developing customized services tailored to each customer and region. This collaboration is expected to “double the power” with the advantage of green transformation technology solutions owned by FPT IS and SK C&C. Additionally, it aims to consolidate and expand the customer base for both companies’ ESG implementations. This partnership will serve as a model for promoting green transformation processes not only in Vietnam and Korea but also on a global scale.
In parallel, the two companies also plan to collaborate on designing and building SK C&C’s “Net Zero Factory” for the Southeast Asian market, including Vietnam. The factory seeks to achieve carbon neutrality in all operations, from energy consumption and water use to the conversion to renewable energy and high-efficiency equipment.

At the ceremony, Mr. Kim Min Hyuk, Global Director of SK C&C, stated: “This partnership will expand opportunities to introduce the Digital Carbon Passport Platform not only in Korea and Vietnam but also in Europe and Southeast Asia. We will share experience and expertise and coordinate with FPT IS to help global manufacturing businesses achieve Net Zero and develop sustainably, thereby, continuously finding best practices for ESG globally.”
SK C&C provides comprehensive digital solutions that integrate innovative business practices with advanced digital technologies in four fields, including digital transformation, green transformation, artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing, and digital manufacturing. In partnership with FPT IS, SK C&C offers the Digital Carbon Passport platform, a comprehensive carbon emission management tool that supports life cycle assessment (LCA) based on real-world carbon data. This platform generates automatically carbon emission reports and environmental impact assessments throughout the entire product lifecycle, from raw material extraction, production, utilization to disposal. It also adopts the international standards for product carbon footprint assessment ISO 14064, CBAM, and LCA regulations and is considered Korea’s first carbon emission management platform.
FPT IS is a pioneer in Vietnam’s technology solutions, assisting the Government and businesses in achieving the 2050 Net Zero goal. FPT IS is in partnership with several international partners like the Japanese Carbon Credits Platform (Carbon EX) and the Japanese Decarbonization-oriented Agricultural Development Company (Faeger), and many experts who thoroughly understand ESG issues from Germany and Japan to provide tailored green transformation roadmaps and solutions for businesses. As part of this partnership, FPT IS will share its carbon accounting solution – VertZéro, which enables tracking and managing carbon emissions by business unit. This solution complies with international standards ISO 14064 and covers carbon accounting across three scopes.

FPT IS recently deployed the VertZéro carbon accounting solution for Tran Duc Group. The project helps Tran Duc inventory carbon emissions across their entire production and business system, moving towards Net Zero in Manufacturing, Architecture, and Construction, and improving the quality of sustainable interior products in the international market.
Regarding urgent climate issues, international cooperation models like that of FPT IS and SK C&C are considered the key for businesses to share knowledge, experience, resources, and technology to promote green transformation, making Southeast Asia a leading region in the fight against climate change and building a sustainable future for generations to come.
