FPT IS provides electronic contract authentication service in Vietnam
Implementing Decree 85/2021/ND-CP, on August 31, 2022, e-Commerce and Digital Economy Agency (Vietnam Ministry of Industry and Trade) has officially awarded the Certificate of registration to provide contract authentication service for FPT Information System Corporation (FPT IS) and 4 other companies.
Accordingly, FPT IS is now eligible to provide electronic contract authentication service with a process that ensures confidentiality, non-repudiation, and data integrity. After signing an e-contract, people, enterprises, or related third parties can look up and check the authenticated e-contract via e-contract lookup and authentication portal at https://xacthuc.ceca.gov.vn/.
At the ceremony, Mr. Dang Hoang Hai, Director of e-Commerce and Digital Economy Agency, Vietnam Ministry of Industry and Trade, says: “Although e-contract has emerged for quite a long time in Vietnam, it has yet been widely adopted by enterprises. Concerns about authenticity and reliability are main limitations against the development of e-contracts. The key to developing and popularizing the use of e-contracts in Vietnam is authenticity, especially the authenticity at the time of signing. Tackling such issues, electronic contracts will not only be recognized by the two signing parties, but also recognized and followed by a third party”.
The issuance of Certificate of registration to provide electronic contract authentication service for FPT IS and 4 other companies is particularly important in promoting the development of e-contracts. This is a big turning point, creating a foundation towards the goal of 50% enterprises using e-contracts according to Decision No. 27/QĐ-UBQGCĐS 2022 on the action plan of National Committee on Digital Transformation, added Mr. Hai.

In Vietnam, since 2020, FPT IS has been pioneering in the implementation of the e-signing model in Vietnam with FPT.eContract, applicable to all types of contracts and documents. Up to now, FPT.eContract has been deployed in more than 1,000 enterprises and organizations, serving more than 2,000,000 users.
With a technology ecosystem that provides maximum support for e-signing such as FPT.eContract signing platform, FPT.eSign digital signature, eKYC electronic identification, FPT IS is one of the first enterprises to cooperate with the Vietnam Ministry of Industry and Trade to conduct a survey and integrate with Certified e-Contract Authority (CeCA) to ensure that professional criteria and system technical standards are fully met. FPT.eContract platform has also made available a function to choose a form of authentication with the authentication mark of the Ministry of Industry and Trade. Accordingly, information content code will be transmitted to FPT.CeCA e-document authentication system to verify and then transmit to the CeCA. Meanwhile, FPT IS also issues a Certificate of contract validation to allow a third party to look up and authenticate the contract as necessary. In addition, organizations that have already adopted an electronic signing system and need to verify the legality of the contract can do so via FPT.CeCA, with the timestamp and digital signature of the Vietnam Ministry of Industry and Trade.
