FPT IS reports and proposes plan on smart city construction to the People’s Committee of Nha Trang city
On the afternoon of January 7th, the People’s Committee of Nha Trang city has met with FPT Information System Co., Ltd (FPT IS) on the Company’s survey report and plan for construction of Smart city and the Center for Covid-19 prevention and economic recovery in Nha Trang city.
According to the Digital transformation roadmap for the period of 2021-2025, Khanh Hoa province will take Nha Trang city as the focus to construct smart city and smart transportation, then replicate the model to other areas across the province.
At the meeting, Mr. Tran Huu Tai, Director of FPT IS’s Advising Center, has presented the survey results on the IT infrastructure of Nha Trang city. Accordingly, the city’s IT infrastructure has been inherited and invested scientifically over time, however, additional developments and upgrades are still required to construct a smart city. In addition, intelligent operation centers (IOC), dedicated systems for traffic information management and urban order monitoring using AI cameras integrated to the IOC, open data portals, etc. aren’t available in the city.
FPT IS reports and proposes a plan on Smart city construction to the People’s Committee of Nha Trang city on January 7th.
Based on the survey results, FPT IS proposes the following actions to the People’s Committee of Nha Trang city:
– Develop relevant mechanisms and policies, conduct training to raise awareness and develop digital skills in local state agencies.
– Develop digital infrastructure platforms and IoT devices for smart city construction.
– Build Intelligent Operation Centers (IOC).
– Build economic, cultural-social and urban data warehouses, deploy dedicated management information systems, and provide intelligent digital services.
The actions proposed by FPT IS have been approved and highly appreciated by Mr. Nguyen Sy Khanh, Deputy Secretary of Party Committee, Chairman of the People’s Committee of Nha Trang city. Mr. Khanh also encourages the delegates participating in the meeting to actively join the discussion and contribute ideas towards a complete plan to transform Nha Trang into a smart city in the near future.
Previously, on May 27th 2021, FPT Corporation and McKinsey & Company Vietnam have signed an agreement on the planning of Khanh Hoa province for the period of 2021-2030 with a vision to 2050, towards the goal of turning Khanh Hoa province into a marine economic center as well as a major tourist and service center of the country by 2025.
