FPT IS suggests creative technology solutions for urban development
Recently, at “ULI Vietnam Urbanization Series: Best Practices in Innovation Districts: Envisioning Vietnam’s future economic transition from industry to innovation” seminar, Mr. Steven Michael Furst, Senior Consulting Director, FPT Information System Corporation (FPT IS), has presented on planning, design and operation of smart urban areas. The seminar is part of ULI (Urban Land Institute) Vietnam Urbanization Series, attended by inter-industry experts in fields of real estate and land use around the world.
Smart urban areas today play an important role in economic development of cities in Asia and the world. Besides investment in science and new technologies, smart urban areas have also drawn a wide range of employment opportunities with medium to high income, while facilitating land use in a more efficient and sustainable way. The seminar discusses new trends of development and practical experience in smart urban area construction, an important factor to create successful innovative centers in Vietnam, Singapore, China, Dubai… Besides, perspectives and visions on how smart cities and innovative centers will shape Vietnam’s economy in the future have also been discussed in-depth by speakers from Savills, Becamex, enCity, Skidmore, Owings & Merrill.

From technology perspective, Mr. Steven Michael Furst presents FPT IS’s view on innovative centers and innovative ecosystem in Vietnam via a number of typical projects, including: “Science Park” in Saigon Hi-Tech Park (SHTP), Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park, “Innovation Districts” such as FPT City and F-Complex Da Nang, AI research center in Quy Nhon…. These are places where technologies are planned and integrated in a smart way to optimize collective energy for innovation.
“In an economy of platforms, besides spatial planning, digital ecosystems can also promote innovation, especially as innovations in Vietnam are taking place in the context of multidimensional digital transformation on national scale,” emphasized Mr. Steven. In Vietnam and the region, FPT IS and its technology partners have been implementing top smart technologies, digital transformation and data interaction solutions to provide innovative platform services, driving suppliers, manufacturers, distributors in smart cities and innovative centers towards smart operation.
