FPT joins forces with Faeger to support enterprises in developing green agriculture in Vietnam
On December 1, in Japan, FPT Corporation – a leading enterprise in digital transformation in Vietnam and the region, and Faeger – a pioneering company in decarbonizing-oriented agricultural development in Japan, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly research and develop consulting services and digital transformation solutions for corporate customers in the field of Agriculture in Vietnam.
The cooperation of the two sides will contribute to promoting technology development in the field of agriculture and forestry for the goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions, facilitating the green transformation process in Vietnam.

Attending the event are Mr. Tran Duc Tri Quang – Chief Data Officer (FPT IS) and Director of Green Transformation Task Force (FPT Green), Mr. Takahiro Ishizaki – CEO of Faeger, and Mr. Yusuke Takai – COO of Faeger.
The two sides will jointly research and develop digital transformation services and solutions for corporate customers in the field of Agriculture in Vietnam, aiming to promote technology application in the fields of agriculture & forestry and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
Accordingly, FPT is tasked to create and expand the green transformation ecosystem in the agricultural and forestry sector in Vietnam, as well as connect the organizations, enterprises, and the Vietnamese farming community. Besides, FPT will also provide comprehensive services from consulting to implementing technology solutions for optimization of management, reduction of emissions, and enhancement of efficiency in agricultural and forestry production.
Faeger is committed to sharing expertise and connecting to the Joint Crediting Mechanism (JCM) for funding to support Vietnamese organizations and enterprises to promote green transformation. Besides, Feager will also share the planning methods for effectively using investment capital from Japan for agricultural projects.
The cooperation shows the efforts of both sides in developing green transformation between Vietnam and Japan, following previous projects on low-carbon growth between the Governments of the two countries. The two sides expect to jointly promote a circular economy that is resilient to climate change, with low carbon emissions and sustainable growth.
Mr. Takahiro Ishizaki – CEO of Faeger – highly appreciates the cooperation with FPT towards the goal of promoting green transformation in Vietnam. Mr. Ishizaki says: “Via the cooperation, we will comprehensively support enterprises in decarbonization, meanwhile, contribute to increasing income for Vietnamese farmers for their environmental farming efforts. This will be a typical project in the field of decarbonized agriculture, creating a solid foundation for effective replication in Vietnam and the region”.

Mr. Quang emphasizes: “Green transformation is no longer a slogan but has become inevitable for enterprises to step into the global market. In the agricultural sector, agricultural production activities create green values, however, on the other hand, are directly and most heavily affected by climate change. Besides, major challenges include greenhouse gas emissions from the production process. Such situation poses a demand for emission reduction and sustainable development models for agricultural production enterprises. Deeply understanding such urgent demands, FPT determines that the main task is to develop technology strategies to accompany the Government and enterprises to tackle carbon trade barriers, aiming towards the goal of Net Zero in a quick and effective way”.

Recently, FPT has successfully implemented a consulting project on marine and road emissions statistics. The project includes the following scope of work: Trip planning, Transportation management system, Emission intensity, and Reports at different levels for a number of Japanese and Vietnamese enterprises. FPT has also built an effective data application model to optimize energy production activities, and support enterprises in power generation planning with different fuel sources from coal, liquefied petroleum gas to renewable energies. The model provides different production scenarios along with total emissions, as well as required investment and material costs.
