FPT Partners with Phan Chau Trinh University Medical Center – The First Hospital in Quang Nam Approved to Implement Electronic Medical Records
Recently, Phan Chau Trinh University Medical Center, in collaboration with FPT, officially became the first hospital in Quang Nam province to be approved by the Ministry of Health for full deployment of Electronic Medical Records (EMRs), replacing all paper-based records. This is a significant milestone, marking the hospital’s pioneering role in the digital transformation of the local healthcare system—ushering in a paperless, modern, accurate, and patient-centered future.
Ministry of Health Approval – Paving the Way for Smart, Human-Centered Healthcare
A professional council from the Ministry of Health—joined by experts from the Quang Nam Department of Health, the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment, the Department of Science, Technology, and Training, and other relevant units—conducted a comprehensive assessment of the EMR system at Phan Chau Trinh University Medical Center.
The results showed that the EMR system fully meets the requirements of Circular 46 issued by the Ministry of Health. This includes two-way data interoperability with specialized systems such as Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and Radiology Information Systems (RIS/PACS); legal compliance ensured through the integration of digital signatures for all relevant medical staff; a modern, secure, and stable IT infrastructure; and a well-trained team of medical professionals ready to adopt technology in daily operations.
The official approval to implement EMRs is not only a technical achievement but also a powerful affirmation of the hospital’s commitment to building a smart hospital model—centered around the patient and focused on delivering high-quality, efficient healthcare services.
FPT – A Trusted, Long-term Technology Partner
FPT was responsible for deploying the entire IT system at Phan Chau Trinh University Medical Center, including the FPT.eHospital hospital management system and the FPT.EMR electronic medical records platform. The project was successfully completed in just four months—an impressive timeframe for a large-scale system with high integration and standardization requirements.
Notably, FPT’s engineering team went beyond installation and configuration. They directly supported the hospital in process development, standardizing clinical workflows, and training patients to use digital tools such as scanning QR codes to access test results and tracking their medical history directly on mobile devices.

FPT is one of the leading pioneers in Vietnam in EMR deployment, with robust technological capabilities and experience working with dozens of hospitals nationwide—including Quang Ninh General Hospital, Danang Traditional Medicine Hospital, and Hoan My General Hospital, among others. FPT’s EMR system helps reduce paperwork, optimize operations, lower costs, and improve the quality of patient care.
Beyond a single solution, FPT offers a comprehensive Digital Healthcare Ecosystem, including the smart hospital management system FPT.eHospital 2.0+, the FPT.EMR platform, and the Digital Health Platform – Azladin. This ecosystem has been implemented in over 300 hospitals and clinics across the country, built on a modern Service-Oriented Architecture (SoA) and integrated with IoT, mobile technology, AI, big data, and open data portals.
Thanks to this, healthcare providers can flexibly expand services, develop smart care models, enhance patient experience, and empower medical staff. With this end-to-end strength, FPT is ready to accompany hospitals and healthcare organizations on a sustainable digital transformation journey.
By bringing the EMR system into full operation at Phan Chau Trinh Hospital, FPT once again affirms its technological leadership, implementation expertise, and long-term commitment to the healthcare sector’s digital transformation. This project also reflects FPT’s continued dedication to investing in and developing technological solutions that serve public health—turning the vision of a “smart hospital” into a tangible reality.
