FPT partners with the State Records and Archives Administration of Viet Nam to advance digital archiving

On December 16, 2025, the State Records and Archives Department (SRAD) organized a conference to discuss challenges and obstacles in digital archiving, as well as to officially transfer the Digital Archival Records Management Software developed by FPT to ministries, ministerial-level agencies, government-affiliated bodies, and state-owned corporations and economic groups that have registered to participate.

The event marked an important milestone, building on the positive outcomes of previous initiatives supporting digital archiving at the local level, and extending the impact of technological adoption to central government agencies. The conference reaffirmed the commitment to accompanying ministries and sectors in addressing professional, technological, and organizational challenges amid increasingly urgent requirements for archival records management.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Dang Thanh Tung, Director General of the State Records and Archives Department, expressed his appreciation for the strong support and collaboration of leaders from ministries, sectors, local authorities, and related organizations in advancing digital archiving.

“In recent times, particularly during the implementation of the two-tier local government model, records and archives management at the local level has faced extremely urgent demands, with large volumes of documents and intense processing pressure,” Mr. Tung stated. “In line with Resolution No. 57 and relevant guiding documents, the Ministry of Home Affairs and the State Records and Archives Department have prioritized the organization of working missions to localities and the development of records management schemes to support this governance transition.”

Building on these efforts, Mr. Tung emphasized that the conference further demonstrated the responsibility and commitment of the Ministry of Home Affairs and the State Records and Archives Department to work alongside ministries and sectors in resolving challenges related to timelines, professional requirements, and the deployment of digital archival management software tailored to the specific characteristics of each organization—toward a new phase of strong innovation in the archival sector.

During the conference, delegates shared and discussed practical challenges encountered in the digital transformation of records and archives management within central government agencies. Key issues included the large volume of documents and the sector-specific nature of records, particularly regulations on retention periods and dossier composition. In response, leaders of the State Records and Archives Department reaffirmed their commitment to supporting ministries through detailed guidance documents, standardized procedures, implementation methodologies, and concrete technological solutions to comprehensively address these challenges.

As part of the event, the State Records and Archives Department officially transferred the Digital Archival Records Management Software to ministries and agencies for installation and operation on their respective IT infrastructures. Developed in collaboration with FPT, the software complies with the Law on Archives and sector-specific professional requirements, ensuring data security, integrity, and scalability throughout its lifecycle.The solution supports end-to-end management of archival records and documents, while contributing to data standardization and facilitating connectivity and information sharing among agencies in line with the unified orientation of the archival sector.

Previously, the State Records and Archives Department transferred the digital archival records management software, while FPT Corporation donated document digitization software to 34 provinces nationwide. A series of conferences were held across all three regions—North, Central, and South—with the participation of representatives from the State Records and Archives Department, FPT Corporation, and provincial Departments of Home Affairs, Departments of Science and Technology, and Provincial People’s Committees. These activities reaffirm FPT’s role as a long-term partner in promoting the digital transformation of the records and archives sector, accelerating the achievement of sectoral objectives under Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW, from central to local levels.

In parallel with its support for the deployment and transfer of digital archiving software, FPT continues to develop a comprehensive digital archiving ecosystem, including iSOMA, ArchiveNex, and akaVerse. These solutions are currently being deployed nationwide to serve the needs of digital records management, utilization, and preservation for a wide range of government agencies, organizations, and enterprises.
