FPT Semiconductor and Nanochap to collaborate on business development and chip producing technology
On the afternoon of April 24, FPT Semiconductor.,JSC (FPT Semiconductor) – a member company of FPT Information System Corporation (FPT IS) – and Nanochap have jointly held a ceremony to sign a strategic cooperation agreement on business development and chip producing technology. On the basis of exploiting and promoting technological and business potential, Nanochap and FPT Semiconductor will jointly research and develop microchips, aiming towards realizing the dream of producing semiconductor components based on Vietnamese brain power.
Nanochap is a company specializing in research and development of medical chips, currently valued by investors at up to 510 million USD. Nanochap is headquartered in Hangzhou, China and has a large R&D center in Melbourne, Australia. With over 10 years of experience, Nanochap is now one of the world’s most advanced enterprises in the research and development of biosensor chips as well as related medical device products. Meanwhile, FPT Semiconductor is advantageous in terms of developing power management IC (PMIC) and is moving towards promoting the production of “Make in Vietnam”, “Made by FPT” PMICs.
Accordingly, the collaboration between FPT Semiconductor and Nanochap is expected to result in new chip lines with diverse features, leveraging the strengths of both companies. The two parties will support each other in technology, workforce, and equipment throughout the research and production process, and also share customer networks across different markets.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Mr. Tran Dang Hoa – Chairman of FPT IS – says, currently in Vietnam, the chip manufacturing industry has been receiving great attention and support from the Government. This is a favorable condition for the two companies to conduct research and develop more types of chips dedicated for the healthcare sector in the Vietnamese market.
Mr. Jiawei Yang – CEO of Nanochap – says, FPT’s values and potential in this field are exactly those that Nanochap expects for a partner. Mr. Yang believes that the collaboration will deliver excellent outcomes for both sides.
At the event, Mr. Nhan Tran – CTO of Nanochap – also shares about the types of chips that the company has been researching and producing for the healthcare sector such as GC1, EPC1, ENS1, or BMS3.
