FPT shares practical Digital Transformation Model with upcoming leadership of Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Group
Continuing the strategic cooperation framework between FPT and the Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Group (Vinacomin), on June 24, 2025, FPT welcomed a delegation of executive trainees (Cohort 14) from the Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Group (Vinacomin) to visit and study its real-world digital transformation model. The initiative is part of a broader effort to expose future Vinacomin leaders to scalable digital practices successfully implemented across large enterprises.

The visit is part of the strategic collaboration between FPT and Vinacomin in the fields of technology, digital governance, and human resource training, contributing to the realization of Vinacomin’s Digital Transformation Strategy through 2025 with a vision toward 2030, aligned with the goals of Resolution 57, Resolution 03, and directives from the Group’s leadership.
The “Digital Transformation Experience and Learning Program” serves as a key activity within Vinacomin’s executive training course to enhance leadership and modern management capabilities. Focusing on emerging technology trends—particularly the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in governance and operations—the program offers future executive candidates a hands-on perspective of a comprehensive, practical, and scalable digital transformation model, applicable across Vinacomin’s subsidiaries.
Opening the program, Mr. Vu Minh Quang, Consulting Director of Enterprise Sector at FPT IS, stated: “We’re truly pleased to welcome you today to FPT’s ‘home.’ Having had the opportunity to collaborate with Vinacomin in building its digital transformation roadmap, we’re focusing on a specific area—artificial intelligence—as a key pillar of digital transformation. The most important task is finding the right methodology to pinpoint the touchpoints and processes where AI can be applied—so we can unlock real operational and business value for Vinacomin.”

Today’s session offers us and our trainees valuable new perspectives—from governance philosophy and organizational culture to operational practices. FPT has worked with Vinacomin to develop Digital Transformation Plan No. 243, and the key challenge now is how to turn that strategy into concrete actions by integrating technology into every aspect of Vinacomin’s operations.”

During the thematic working session, senior experts from FPT presented an overview of the FPT AI ecosystem—a comprehensive artificial intelligence solution designed to support businesses throughout their digital transformation journey. The session featured practical insights drawn from large-scale digital transformation projects, particularly those involving organizations with structures and operations similar to Vinacomin. Discussions centered on the core pillars of digital transformation: developing a digital strategy, data governance and utilization, operational process optimization, and enhancing user experience, both internally for employees and externally for customers.

The working session also showcased FPT’s latest technologies and platforms, including AI Mentor (AI-powered internal training), AI Agents (virtual executive assistants), Kyta Platform (end-to-end identification and digital transaction automation platform), and Akabot (robotic process automation). All solutions were demonstrated live, offering the Vinacomin delegation an immersive and context-specific technology experience.
Notably, FPT’s AI applications drew strong interest from Vinacomin, with in-depth discussions and questions focusing on how AI could be applied to real-world challenges in mining and energy operations.
An open exchange under the theme “Digital Transformation – Green Transformation – AI Transformation” sparked valuable insights into implementation methodologies, identification of AI touchpoints in actual operations, and strategic directions for Vinacomin’s long-term AI development roadmap.
Recognizing the unique challenges of digital transformation in a large, multi-sector state-owned enterprise with uneven levels of automation across units, FPT provided tailored strategic guidance. Emphasis was placed on identifying high-potential areas for digitalization and prioritizing initiatives accordingly. FPT also proposed a step-by-step roadmap to help Vinacomin gradually build a comprehensive digital transformation strategy that aligns closely with the specific characteristics of the mining and energy sectors.
Representing FPT, Ms. Bui Nguyen Phuong Chau – Deputy Director of Business cum Director of the Strategic Customer Center at FPT Smart Cloud, FPT Corporation – led the Vinacomin delegation on a tour of the FPT Tower.
As part of the working session, the Vinacomin delegation embarked on a guided tour of FPT’s digital technology ecosystem—home to the platforms and transformation solutions already deployed across leading corporations. Key stops on the tour included the Data Center (showcasing digital infrastructure and large-scale data processing capabilities), the AI & RPA Center (featuring applications of artificial intelligence and robotic process automation), and the aka Solutions Hub (highlighting FPT’s digital product ecosystem, including Akabot, akaMES, and akaChain).
