FPT tasks itself with a mission to develop education and promote digital transformation for Phu Yen

After signing a cooperation agreement in 2021, on June 22, 2023, FPT Corporation and Phu Yen Provincial People’s Committee have discussed the details of the cooperation in digital transformation and development of the education sector in the province. At the meeting, Mr. Pham Thien Duy – Director of Digital Government Solutions, FPT Information System Corporation (FPT IS) – presents a number of suggestions on digital transformation and FPT’s strategy to accompany Phu Yen province in the implementation of Project 06 of the Government.

At the beginning of the meeting, Mr. Ta Anh Tuan – Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People’s Committee of Phu Yen province – briefly introduces the potentials and advantages of the province, as well as areas that FPT and the province should focus on. According to Mr. Tuan, Phu Yen is paying great attention to high technology development. With a focus on tourism development associated with available advantages, Phu Yen expects to draw more and more technology experts to work and live in the province.

Leaders of the province also acknowledge that Phu Yen is facing multiple difficulties, therefore administrative reform as well as digital transformation is necessary to create breakthroughs. Accordingly, the province expects the cooperation with FPT will result in solutions to change, helping Phu Yen accelerate digital transformation in various fields.

In 2021, FPT has had a memorable business trip to join forces for digital transformation in Phu Yen. Returning to the province after the pandemic period, FPT’s CEO Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa affirms that the company is here with a mission and commitment to grow with Phu Yen.

According to Mr. Khoa, information technology has always been FPT’s core business since its establishment. The company owns specialized IT and digital transformation solutions, which is a special advantage that leaders of the province can count on compared to other companies.

“With the desire to help Phu Yen successfully implement digital transformation, FPT once again returns to the province, bringing solutions, initiatives, and suggestions to enhance the competitiveness of Phu Yen province across the country”, said Mr. Khoa.

Mr. Khoa affirms that investing in education is a long-term and sustainable investment. Enhancing knowledge and competence for the people of Phu Yen will contribute to the sustainable development of the province in the future. Therefore, FPT expects to first focus on building a center with an advanced education model for the young generation in Phu Yen, such as high quality inter-level schools (FPT Schools), high schools and colleges for vocational training, contributing to solving the problems of employment.

“Resources are extremely important. The better resources the province can offer, the better the investors can be drawn. With FPT’s existing education system, we are confident that we can educate and formulate a generation of global citizens, address the development demands of the society, and compete well with other public schools”, emphasized Mr. Khoa.

Mr. Khoa concludes: “Digital transformation is a fear not only of the Government, provinces/cities, or businesses, it is also a fear of those who provide digital transformation solutions like FPT. However, in order to seize opportunities, face and overcome fears in terms of technologies, and seek the quickest and most appropriate direction for Phu Yen, the consensus and synergy between the province and FPT is absolutely necessary”.

Concretizing the contents of cooperation between FPT and Phu Yen province, Mr. Pham Thien Duy – Director of Digital Government Solutions, FPT IS – presents a number of suggestions on digital transformation and FPT’s strategy to accompany the province in the implementation of Project 06 of the Government.

Mr. Duy says, FPT will leverage its strengths to build a comprehensive data warehouse in many fields; deploy the Digital citizen application; consult and deploy Phu Yen’s application and IT service platform; build a system for managing the databases and administrative procedure results, Phu Yen’s open data portal, as well as a paperless meeting room system for the Office of the Provincial People’s Committee, etc.

At the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Truong Son – Deputy Director of Office of FPT Education – also mentions the options for the cooperation to promote education development. According to Mr. Son, FPT Education would like to expand its scope of activities to Phu Yen province, creating conditions for the pupils to get access to educational programs that are compliant with international standards. For the FPT inter-school project, FPT guarantees the progress of implementation of the project so that it can be put into effective operation on timely schedule.

Expressing the desire for comprehensive cooperation, leaders of Phu Yen province’s departments have discussed with FPT regarding the strategy to build digital transformation scheme for each field.

Besides, getting to know about the Hope School, leader of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Phu Yen province calls on FPT to create conditions to take children who unfortunately lost their parents during the COVID-19 pandemic to the school. Responding to the call, Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa says, Hope School has finished processing the applications of five pupils, and it is expected that one more will be taken in the near future.

Concluding the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee affirms that there are many opportunities for cooperation between FPT and Phu Yen province, especially digital transformation. The leader of the Provincial People’s Committee also suggests FPT to consult and build a digital transformation scheme, and conduct relevant research to promote education development. He also expresses trust and appreciation as FPT has had extensive experience in the implementation of digital transformation, and has successfully deployed the inter-level education model in many provinces and cities.
