FPT welcomes Taiwanese technology delegation for discussions on AI and smart cities
Hanoi, December 24 – FPT Corporation welcomed a delegation of Taiwanese technology enterprises to its FPT Tower headquarters for a working visit aimed at learning about FPT’s technological capabilities, ecosystem and cooperation opportunities, particularly in the fields of artificial intelligence (AI), education and smart cities.
The meeting was chaired by Phan Thanh Son, director of business development, enterprise sector, FPT IS Company Limited, FPT Corporation, and was attended by representatives of the Vietnam Software and IT Services Association (VINASA).

During the programme, the delegation toured FPT Tower and received an overview of FPT’s development journey, core technologies and key business areas.
The Taiwanese delegation was led by the Institute for Information Industry (III) as part of a cooperation programme with VINASA, bringing together a number of major enterprises and organisations within Taiwan’s technology ecosystem. Participants included representatives from AI-Rider, TPI Software, MIC Meter Industrial, Wavenet Technology, Twoway Group, Intumit and International Integrated Systems.
These companies operate in areas such as AI, digital government solutions, smart manufacturing, industrial IoT equipment and solutions, data platforms and enterprise management software, and are currently seeking partners to expand their presence in the Vietnamese market.
In his welcoming remarks, Phan Thanh Son thanked VINASA and the Taiwanese enterprises for choosing FPT as a destination in their working programme, and affirmed that FPT is always ready to cooperate with Taiwanese technology companies to create practical value for businesses and society. He expressed his expectation that Vietnamese enterprises, including FPT, and Taiwanese partners would jointly implement projects and bring technology products and services to regional and international markets.

Representing the Taiwanese delegation, Jose Cheng, deputy director of the Institute for Information Industry (III), expressed his strong impression of FPT’s technological capabilities and experience in implementing large-scale projects. He also shared practical insights into the development and operation of smart city ecosystems in Taipei.
Cheng said he hoped the two sides would soon identify concrete cooperation opportunities not only in Vietnam but also in ASEAN and Japan, through cooperation programmes facilitated by the Institute for Information Industry (III).

During the discussion session, Taiwanese enterprises introduced a range of technology solutions related to AI, smart cities, smart agriculture, smart factories and enterprise technology services. The solutions highlighted strengths in ecosystem development, connectivity with urban authorities and experience in implementing large-scale projects across Asia.
Both sides also discussed potential areas of cooperation such as smart tourism, transportation and green urban development, while exploring ways to combine Taiwanese companies’ technological strengths with FPT’s implementation capabilities and access to domestic and global markets.

The meeting concluded with an agreement to maintain further in-depth exchanges in the coming period to gradually translate cooperation initiatives into concrete actions. The visit is expected to open up new cooperation pathways between FPT and Taiwanese technology enterprises, contributing to the promotion of smart city models and digital transformation in Vietnam and the region.
Prior to the visit, the Taiwanese delegation attended the Vietnam Smart City Awards 2025, organised by VINASA at Melia Hanoi Hotel. The event was held within the framework of the Vietnam–Asia Smart City Conference 2025, bringing together leaders from ministries, agencies, local authorities and domestic and international technology enterprises.
The event aimed to honour outstanding localities, enterprises and solutions, while providing a platform for networking and experience-sharing in the development of smart and sustainable urban life in Vietnam and the region.
