OCB pioneers the application of Oracle ExaC@C Database 23ai digital data solution in Vietnam

On January 10, 2025, Oriental Commercial Bank (OCB) and FPT Corporation officially signed and launched the “Data Analytics Modernisation Project using Oracle ExaC@C Database 23ai” in Ho Chi Minh City. This marks a significant milestone in OCB’s comprehensive digital transformation journey, bringing about major breakthroughs in the bank’s operations and service quality.

The “Data Analytics Modernisation Project using Oracle ExaC@C Database 23ai” implemented by FPT Corporation for OCB Bank, has officially commenced.

Notably, in the finance and banking sector, Exadata Cloud at Customer (ExaC@C) is currently the most advanced solution of the world’s leading database platform, located at the customer’s data center. This solution helps to reduce deployment time, offers flexible resource utilization, high performance, ensures data security and privacy, and complies with stringent organizational standards. Oracle 23ai, integrated into ExaC@C, simplifies the use of AI, enabling rapid application of AI in data analysis and automation of IT system management and operation processes. 

OCB has decided to select the ExaC@C solution integrated with Oracle 23ai database to build a core data service platform, serve the bank’s management and operation activities. This solution not only helps modernize OCB’s centralized reporting and data analysis system but also supports a data-driven business strategy, optimizes the ability to analyze, forecast, and make decisions quickly and effectively.

Currently, OCB has over 4 million customers, while much of our data is still scattered across various business units. Therefore, we have partnered with FPT to implement a data platform modernization project based on Oracle’s advanced technology. With this project, OCB aims to consolidate data into a single source to serve comprehensive data analysis, enabling us to better understand the market, customer needs, enhance risk management, and increase data-driven competitiveness. Currently, this is also a pioneering project in Vietnam implementing the ExaC@C solution integrated with the latest version 23ai of cloud database services. Previously, OCB and FPT have collaborated on numerous key technology projects, such as implementing Human Resource Management software and obtaining PCI DSS certification for payment card data security. This has helped OCB improve human resource management and related processes like recruitment, training, and termination. Additionally, the software facilitates efficient timekeeping and payroll, enhancing the capabilities of card services to meet international security standards.
