Soc Trang province and FPT IS jointly conduct exercise for information security and incident response

Recently, the Department of Information and Communications of Soc Trang province and FPT Information System Corporation (FPT IS) have jointly conducted exercise for information security and incident response in 2023 for IT personnel and members of Incident response teams of agencies/organizations and cities/districts/communes in the province.

Attending the incident response exercise are Mr. Nguyen Huu Nguyen – Deputy Director of Vietnam Cybersecurity Emergency Response Team/Coordination Center, Department of Information Security, Ministry of Information and Communications; Ms. Huynh Thi Diem Ngoc – Provincial Party Committee member, Vice Chairwoman of the People’s Committee of Soc Trang province; Mr. Nguyen Huu Hanh – Director of the Department of Information and Communications of Soc Trang province, Head of the Exercise Organizing Committee; Mr. Duong Van Nhan – Deputy Director of the Department of Information and Communications of Soc Trang province, Deputy Head of the Exercise Organizing Committee, and IT personnel from agencies/organizations and cities/districts/communes in the province. 

Leaders of the Ministry of Information and Communications, leaders of Soc Trang province, and representatives of FPT IS discuss the results achieved after the exercise.

The exercise is conducted to enhance the capacity of members of the incident response network, the agency responsible for information security for Soc Trang’s administrative procedure information portal (https://dichvucong.soctrang.gov.vn), meanwhile, strengthen the protection of the information system and raise awareness of the local agencies, organizations and people about ensuring network information security.

Participating in the exercise are 14 Red Teams and one Blue Team. The Red Teams use basic to advanced methods and techniques to scan and exploit vulnerabilities of the target system. Acting as a Blue Team, FPT IS along with the management team and technical staff of the Department of Information and Communications of Soc Trang province monitor the activities of the attackers, promptly detect and intercept intrusion activities using appropriate tools and techniques. Besides, FPT IS also consults on effective defense plans and measures for the province to scan the public service website of the Department of Information and Communications and handle incidents.
