Telehouse’s highest standard data center in Vietnam has been launched
Telehouse Vietnam’s 2N data center, with two independent power supplies, is the highest standard data center across Telehouse’s global network.
At the launching ceremony on the morning of April 25, Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong – General Director of Telehouse Vietnam – has shared that the new data center is one of the first data centers in Vietnam equipped with Dual-Power Feeds, besides, the center’s storage capacity has increased by 150% compared to before.
Mr. Nguyen Hoang Minh – CEO of FPT IS – and representatives of KDDI and Mitsui & Co Vietnam cut the ribbon to launch the data center.
Dual-Power Feeds is a term used to indicate 2N data centers, an architecture that ensures 1-1 redundancy from the input power source to the devices on the rack, instead of partial N+1 redundancy. The center is located on an area of over 1,000 m2 at the FPT building in Cau Giay, Hanoi. The system includes two transformer stations and medium voltage cabinets with a power capacity of 2 x 1.2 Megawatts, ensuring 1-1 redundancy for solutions such as UPS or generators.
In addition to dual power supply, Telehouse Vietnam’s new data center also implements smart and highly secure solutions based on up-to-date technologies such as magnetic cards, FaceID, eKYC for security control of entry and exit. Besides, the system uses AI to monitor over 4,000 parameters and optimize power capacity and operational capacity. This allows customers who rent servers to pay according to actual consumption instead of nominal consumption as usual, helping to optimize the costs.
At the event, Telehouse Vietnam also announces the cooperation with HGC Global – the largest Wi-Fi service provider in Hong Kong.
According to Mr. Cường, a distinctive feature of the new center is that the technical operation space is completely separated from the data storage rack space. This design ensures that all maintenance and servicing activities do not affect the Data Hall area, maintaining maximum system security.
“This is a design that few data centers in Vietnam currently have implemented. The center also achieves the highest operating standards among Telehouse’s 47 centers across the world at the time it is launched”, affirmed Mr. Cuong.
For data centers, continuity of power supply is of the utmost importance to ensure the stable operation of the entire IT infrastructure. Having two independent, parallel power lines ensures that even in the event of a power line failure, the system is able to operate safely without any interruption. At a seminar on 2N Data center exploration last March, according to experts, Dual-Power Feeds are gradually becoming the standard for data centers in the world in general and in Vietnam in particular.
According to Mr. Tran Anh Tuan, Deputy General Director in charge of Technology at Telehouse Vietnam, the biggest advantage is the near-zero downtime, stability of 99.9995%, and compliance with Tier 4 standard.
At the launching ceremony, Telehouse Vietnam and HGC Global Communications Limited (HGC) have signed a strategic cooperation agreement. The agreement is aimed to boost the sales of EdgeX by HGC products in the Vietnamese market. Customers choosing to use EdgeX by HGC products will have the opportunity to use international-standard co-location services provided by Telehouse Vietnam. The cooperation is part of a roadmap to strengthen cooperation with multinational tech corporations to enhance global service experiences.
