“The Next” – A Unique Mark for FPT IS’s 30th Anniversary
Over 3,200 FPT IS employees participated in a 24-hour series of activities at VinWonders Nam Hoi An, marking a unique milestone for FPT IS in celebrating its 30th anniversary and embarking on a significant business shift – Go Global.
For the first time in Vietnam, a program was organized with a unique concept combining continuous team building, a music festival, and camping, offering an extraordinary series of activities within 24 hours, creating unforgettable experiences and new records for over 3200 FPT IS employees. The event not only highlighted the company’s impressive corporate culture but also introduced a unique way to create new value within the business in the context of business transformation.
The FPT IS individuals were enthusiastic about the series of continuous challenges within 24 hours.
Specifically, the 3,200 employees were divided into over 30 teams to compete in more than 50 challenges throughout the 24-hour event, including running races, music video production, thrilling games, water park challenges, and team-building exercises. Each team captain led their team, which was structured like a startup company with members from various departments, all connected and adhering to the rules and scoring system. With unprecedented scale and complexity, all recreational activities, information, and interactions were operated through an event app – FIS 30 The Next, developed by the FPT IS team. Real-time updates on team and individual rankings created a competitive and exciting atmosphere throughout the program.

Professionalism was a key focus of the entire event and a core value that FPT IS aims to instill in its business culture. “Professionalism in every action will be the guiding principle for FPT IS to effectively accompany domestic customers and strive to meet world-class standards as we expand globally,” shared Mr. Nguyen Hoang Minh, CEO of FPT IS. The company is currently focusing on developing markets in Japan, Malaysia, Indonesia, and is heavily investing in enhancing the global mindset and capabilities of each employee through specialized training programs in expertise, skills, and language proficiency to prepare for the new phase.

The 30-year journey has witnessed significant transformations of FPT IS, rooted in historical values and market adaptability. The establishment context bestowed upon FPT IS a crucial mission: to utilize information technology to serve the core industries, and from there, the opportunity to participate in and lead the development of national backbone systems has become FPT IS’s leading advantage.
In 2007, at a Customer conference event, Mr. Do Cao Bao – former Chairman of FPT IS expressed deeply: “FPT IS aspires to be the main contractor for large projects. We do not want to be subcontractors; we want to affirm that Vietnamese enterprises’ intelligence can fully meet the requirements of large domestic technology projects.”
That statement further elevated FPT IS to an entirely new position in the market – despite already being a distinct entity compared to its competitors. In 2008, FPT IS became a general contractor for the first time with the project of providing the Personal Income Tax (PIT) Management Application System for the General Department of Taxation, worth 14.5 million USD. Subsequently, large-scale and high-value management systems for Petrolimex, financial switching systems, technology systems for major banks such as Vietcombank, BIDV, Agribank, and critical national systems for Bangladesh, Cambodia, and Myanmar… have become the pride of FPT IS and FPT employees. The ability to execute large, complex, and national-scale projects has become the “gene” of FPT IS employees up to the present, with new milestones such as the 100-day rescue of the HoSE and pioneering the implementation of the D06 project across various sectors.
The next significant shift occurred five years ago with the milestone of “A New Day”. At the event, nearly 3000 people marched and welcomed the dawn on Cảnh Dương beach, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Minh – CEO of FPT IS, called for the development of “Made by FPT IS” products, opening a new development phase for FPT IS amidst market demands. Understanding the business challenges of various industries and sectors has driven FPT IS not to rely solely on solutions from other companies but to innovate and create technology products Made in Vietnam. Made by FPT IS products are developed based on real-world customer problems and needs, capturing market trends, and have been trusted by over 3,000 customers, matching the quality of international products and meeting comprehensive needs in banking, enterprise, government, and healthcare sectors. In 2023, the revenue from FPT IS products reached 1,300 billion VND, affirming the correct vision of the strategy as well as the way to spread the new spirit to every FPT IS employee.
