Tran Duc cooperates with FPT IS to deploy the Carbon Accounting VertZéro
On July 18, Tran Duc Corporation and FPT IS officially launched the project to implement the Carbon Accounting solution, VertZéro, aimed at assisting Tran Duc in emissions inventory across its entire production and business system to achieve Net Zero in the near future.
Net Zero has currently become the strategic direction of economic sectors, especially the architecture and construction sectors. With high requirements for sustainability and environmental friendliness, particularly the “going green” standards in production and business, companies in this sector must have specific plans to both develop their business and demonstrate obligations and responsibilities to society.
Accordingly, as a leading company in the manufacture of interior and exterior products as well as building materials, Tran Duc is making efforts to provide solutions using sustainable materials such as Cross Laminated Timber (CLT), Glulam or premium modular homes Modulux Homes, etc. In addition, the Corporation also aims to apply advanced technology in measuring, reporting, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions, thereby achieving “world-class” and “going green” standards that meet international import and export regulations such as the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM).
To achieve that goal, Tran Duc decided to cooperate with FPT IS to deploy the Carbon Accounting – VertZéro. This solution can help businesses determine boundaries and measure emission levels according to Scope 1,2,3, disaggregate multi-dimensional emissions, and access global emissions factors. Businesses can then use this information to set emission reduction targets (based on scope, time, and government regulations) and monitor actual emissions. Once the information is transparent, the solution helps businesses create greenhouse gas inventory reports that meet the requirements of The Vietnamese government (Decree 06/2022/ND-CP, ISO14064-1:2011), the European Union (CBAM), and other global regulations (GHG Protocol, IPCC, EPA, ISO 14064-1:2018).
VertZéro will support Tran Duc in measuring and inventorying greenhouse gas emissions in three areas throughout its entire production and business system, including factories, warehouses, offices, and transportation. The project is expected to be implemented through the following stages: comprehensive greenhouse gas inventory at two factories, Tran Duc Furnishings, and Tran Duc Homes; measurement and evaluation of emissions for the premium modular homes products, Modulux Homes. With a team of leading experts in corporate governance and ESG who are also knowledgeable about international standards, FPT IS will help Tran Duc in leveraging the power of technology to become a leader in the architecture and construction sector towards a holistic green transformation.
Leaders of Tran Duc and FPT IS signed a cooperation agreement to implement the VertZéro solution.
“Tran Duc identified green transformation as a business strategy from the beginning of the company’s establishment. Using the VertZéro solution to implement carbon accounting is one of the priority action programs at this stage. We expect that with the support of FPT IS, an experienced partner who understands our challenges and has the capability to offer green transformation solutions, Tran Duc will optimize the production process, improve energy efficiency, and reduce emissions costs. In the future, we will build a Net Zero factory in Nam Tan Uyen, affirming our commitment to sustainable development, drawing customers who are interested in green products and strengthening Vietnamese companies’ competitiveness on the global market”, said Mr. Tran Duc Hieu – Chief Executive Officer of Tran Duc.
Mr. Tran Dang Hoa, Chairman of FPT IS shared: “Along with the Government and businesses to achieve the Net Zero 2050 goal, FPT IS has made early investments in research and collaborated with leading experts and partners to develop green transformation solutions for businesses. We are pleased to see the interest and investment in Tran Duc’s green transformation strategy. The joint project to implement the VertZéro carbon accounting solution is an important milestone that fortifies the two parties’ long-term partnership from digital transformation to green transformation. I believe that with strategic vision and decisive action, Tran Duc will successfully inventory and manage emissions, obtain ISO 14064 certification, realize the goal of building a Net Zero factory, and provide high-quality green wood products to the global market.”
Cooperation between Tran Duc and FPT IS aims to promote Net Zero in the manufacturing, architecture, and construction industries.
Previously, Tran Duc cooperated with FPT IS to successfully deploy the SAP S/4HANA enterprise resource planning system combined with “Made by FPT IS” solutions. The system facilitates the consolidation of data and business processes from multiple divisions into a single platform. Thereby, Tran Duc’s Board of Directors can quickly assess business situations in real-time and make prompt and accurate decisions. By precisely measuring 95% of raw material requirements, the system enables to reduce order processing time by 10%. Additionally, this lays a crucial foundation for Tran Duc and FPT IS to continue effectively inventorying data-driven greenhouse gas.
