An intellectual playground attracting over 3 million students
Launched in 2008, Violympic is known as the first and largest national math competition via the Internet in Vietnam. The competition derives from the community-oriented cooperation between FPT and the Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training, with the mission to offer a useful online knowledge platform to spread and bridge Vietnamese students’ enthusiasm for learning and passion for technology.
17 years since it first started, Violympic has affirmed its position as one of the oldest and most prestigious online playgrounds in Vietnam and has seen an increasingly large number of students registering to participate. In the 2023 – 2024 school year, this intellectual platform attracted over 3 million students from all provinces/cities across Vietnam with a record number of exam boards hitting above 900. After 9 rounds of competition, more than 130,000 excellent candidates entered the National Final round, of these 23,857 candidates won awards, an increase of 12.5% compared to last year.

This is also one of the factors that attract the participation of candidates with the love for History. In addition, Violympic annually upgrades its infrastructure to accommodate the increasing number of participants, updates the competition content to match the curriculums designed by the Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training, and makes diverse changes in format and interface to evoke students’ excitement, passion and proactiveness during their knowledge gaining process.”
