Exploring cybersecurity systems in the digital age with FPT IS and Palo Alto Networks

On July 10, FPT IS and Palo Alto Networks Vietnam successfully organized the workshop “Enhancing Smart Cybersecurity”. This marked the first step following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for strategic cooperation on June 28, demonstrating the strong cooperation between the two companies in enterprises’ system data protection. The event attracted more than 100 attendants from companies in diverse fields such as manufacturing, trade in services, retail, technology, finance & banking, and others, showing the great interest of the market for current cybersecurity.

The explosive growth of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) is producing revolutionary changes in cybersecurity. However, this is also a double-edged sword when attackers are taking full advantage of the potential of these technologies to carry out more sophisticated and dangerous attacks. In the first quarter of 2024, the Information Technology & Cyber Security Center of Vietnam detected a total of 32,265 cyber-attack threats targeting critical IT networks, an increase of 18.7% over the same period in 2023, and more than 13,000 ransomware-related incidents. Speaking at the opening of the workshop, Mr. Hoang Quang Huy, Country Manager of Palo Alto Networks Vietnam, expressed: “At the present time, the most important thing for organizations and businesses is to choose the right capable partners. This is the best way to “insure” your business, enabling it to focus on operating and growing effectively and safely.”

Palo Alto Networks, with nearly 20 years of establishment, has put its major effort into developing advanced security systems, providing comprehensive solutions for customers not only in the network environment but also on the cloud platform. The company’s goal is to build a safer and more secure world. FPT IS has been a major contributing partner in the first 3 years of Palo Alto Networks’ presence in the Vietnamese market, and the cooperation between the two companies is expected to sustain exponential growth.

Representing FPT IS, Mr. Than Minh Ngoc, Senior Vice President and Deputy Director of the Enterprise Sector, stated: “Huge risk of cyber-attacks are currently challenging both Vietnam and the globe, entailing the compelling need for security. This requires enterprises to quickly and promptly apply new technologies to risk prevention. FPT IS and Palo Alto Networks Vietnam are both capable technology companies in the security and ready to join hands with our customers to address this problem.” According to Mr. Ngoc, the coordination between the two companies will generate enormous business and social value as it can protect customers’ system data in the current volatile landscape.

To achieve the targeted sales committed between the two companies, FPT IS will leverage its deep understanding of the local market and profound insights about cybersecurity solutions it has gained over the past 30 years. FPT IS expressed cooperation goodwill towards Palo Alto Networks Vietnam by officially building a Taskforce Security tailored for promoting its business in security. The tech company aims to be listed in Top 3 Information Safety and Security Service/Solution Providers in the Vietnamese market.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Bui Thach Son, Cybersecurity Expert at FPT IS, stressed: “The cybersecurity landscape has faced significant changes since the beginning of 2024. In particular, Ransomware as a Service (RaaS) make cyber threats even more accessible and dangerous. A comprehensive solution to prevent Ransomware is now an urgent priority for businesses.”

To cope with these challenges, Palo Alto Networks Vietnam and FPT IS are ready to join forces with companies in the “Information security platform revolution in the digital transformation on trend”. The new era will see the drift towards the adoption of Artificial Intelligence in cybersecurity incident response and handling. This AI application was also the topic of the speech delivered by Mr. Doan Quang Hoa, Chief Technology Officer, and the team of experts from Palo Alto Networks Vietnam at the event.

The workshop provided an enormous amount of useful information for organizations’ and enterprises’ development of powerful cybersecurity systems to deal with increasingly complex challenges. The shared knowledge was also intended to raise awareness about information security, thereby preparing companies for cybersecurity risks in the digital age. Additionally, speakers from Palo Alto Networks and FPT IS took part in the discussion session with customers about machine learning, cloud computing, and many other technologies that are being applied to incident detection and response for businesses.
