FPT Affirms Green Transformation Strategy with ISO 14064-1:2018 Certification
Recently, FPT became the pioneering technology company in Vietnam to be awarded the ISO 14064-1:2018 certification by BSI Assurance UK across Scopes 1, 2, and 3 emissions, thanks to its automated emission inventory technology. This marks a significant milestone, reaffirming FPT’s commitment to sustainable development, while also demonstrating its technological expertise and capability to support businesses and organizations on their green transformation journey, moving closer to the Net Zero goal.
Specifically, FPT’s member company in the field of IT and digital transformation has been certified with ISO 14064-1:2018 by BSI Assurance UK—one of the world’s leading standardization and certification organizations. The certification evaluation process took place over six months and covered FPT’s operations nationwide.

ISO 14064-1:2018 is an international standard that provides a detailed framework for quantifying, monitoring, reporting, and verifying greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. To achieve this certification, companies must meet strict criteria for GHG inventory and management, including the establishment of a rigorous management system that ensures transparency and accuracy in data collection, monitoring, and evaluation of emissions. The process requires the scientific and reliable collection of data in compliance with regulations applicable to various industries, countries, and territories.
One of FPT’s key advantages is its pioneering development of the “Made by FPT” carbon accounting solution – VertZéro. This allows FPT to automate and extend the entire emission inventory process, rather than relying on manual methods. Unlike many companies that only focus on Scope 1 (direct emissions from company activities) and Scope 2 (indirect emissions from energy consumption), FPT expands its coverage to Scope 3 (emissions across the supply chain) to provide a holistic view of carbon emissions.
Currently, VertZéro offers over 90,000 emission factors, supports businesses in 190 countries, and optimizes up to 80% of the emission reporting process. In Scope 3 accounting, VertZéro plays a vital role in automating data classification and extraction from millions of transactions each year, covering commodities, machinery, materials, transportation, and business activities. Leveraging Large Language Model (LLM) technology, VertZéro analyzes product descriptions to identify the most appropriate emission factors, allowing FPT to complete the classification process in just three working days with high accuracy and minimal errors.
