FPT IS enhances operational efficiency with Cisco Nexus Dashboard platform
Recently, FPT Information System Corporation (FPT IS) has adopted Cisco Nexus Dashboard – a solution that allows administrators to directly manipulate and operate data center network or cloud data centers in different locations and on a single platform. The company has also introduced the solution to multiple of its partners.
In the explosive era of cloud computing, data not only exists and is stored in permanent data centers, but scatters across different environments and technical infrastructure. Using a hybrid cloud model between physical data centers and cloud computing platforms has gradually become common. Such demand leads to difficulties in system administration and operation, the complex issues that enterprises have to encounter in their process of transformation and development.
At FPT IS, the adoption of Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI) helps the company not only enhance operational efficiency but also scale up network infrastructure. Business divisions have relied on the resiliency of the data center network to grow and deliver services to customers. However, in recent years, with the increasing use of resources and data center networks, traditional SNMP-based tools have failed to provide adequate metrics, meanwhile, the work of monitoring and handling incidents arising in the network is getting more and more difficult. Therefore, ensuring a scalable data center environment has become a big challenge for the company.
Nexus Dashboard Insights (NDI) solution provides an overview on events taking place in the data center network.
In order to tackle such issue, FPT IS has chosen to adopt Cisco Nexus Dashboard solution to combine the functions and advantages of ACI system administration and operation tools on a single platform. Kubernetes architecture allows Nexus Dashboard to deliver a platform with high availability and self-recovery after failures, consuming less resources than using a combination of multiple operation and administration solutions, prioritizing system operation continuity.
On Nexus Dashboard platform, FPT IS’s Information Technology Department has deployed Nexus Dashboard Insights (NDI) solution to collect, process and enrich information from the ACI system. The NDI solution provides an overview of ongoing events in the data center network, thereby becoming the single, centralized interface used by the Department in most data center network operations. NDI also allows administrators to quickly detect incidents occurring on ACI systems with detailed information regarding the time of occurrence, affected components, and causes of the incidents. This minimizes the time to handle compared to using a combination of separate tools, shortens the time to detect the causes of the incidents by about 30%, enhances business efficiency and continuity of the company.

Realizing the advantages of Cisco Nexus Dashboard, FPT IS has introduced the platform to multiple companies and its partners, including FPT University, FPT Software, Sun Group, Viet Capital Bank, TPBank, etc. The company has also organized online experience sessions for companies and organizations to easily access this new and effective method of system operation and management. After the sessions, multiple companies and organizations have expressed their wish to learn more deeply about and adopt Cisco Nexus Dashboard into their business activities.
